Who’s we?
ABU and the Rakyat Times.
In March, HERE and HERE, I blogged that ABU needed volunteers and that Rakyat Times needed volunteer citizen journos.
Fairly decent response.
Quite a few have rolled up their sleeves and gotten down to work.
Truth is, though, that we both need more volunteers.
Many more.
From all the states in Semenanjung.
And from Sabah and Sarawak, too.
Next month, I am planning to travel through the states, from Perlis in the north to Johor in the south, and over to the east coast, to meet volunteers and brief them on the work that awaits them.
Then over to Labuan to meet volunteers from both Sabah and Sarawak ( yes, I am still barred from entering those 2 Borneo nations ) to get them started on the work that needs to be undertaken if we are to have a chance at a regime change in Putrajaya.

Maybe Malaysiakini kind enough to also train citizen journalists for Rakyat Times? Worth a try?

Haris we share with you and all right thinking Malaysians to committ ourselves to helping ABU and Rakyat Times!!! The spirit is willing and the flesh, although not anymore so agile can still and will do whatever best it
BRAVO…………..to ABU and the Rakyat Times.
bhagwan84…..if you want our respected Tunku’s Malaysia learn to become a son of Malaysia like Karpal and join the ABU and RAKYAT teams. You sound so earnest…..do something memorable for your beloved Malaysia, and for yourself. REMEMBER BOTH are taking up the cause for the still poor and lowly amongst us…..the marginalized need our voices to put their plight in the foreground. And to remind the BN Government that the deliberately neg.ected poor and needy Malaysians are also part and parcel of the strength of this nation which falsely prides itself in song and dance only, as being “truly Asia.”

At Karpal’s Memorial at i0i Boulevard in Puchong last Sunday an earnest reminder was made for Malaysians to honour their country by staying back and fighting fr their rights and of how Karpal also relentlessly fought for the Rakyat’s freedom and dignity as human beings. There was loud applause from the huge numbers of people present as they responded thus. The speakers were reminding us not to think of emigrating but to stay back to take up the challenge for equal rights.
I dare say now that judging from attempts being made both overtly and covertly that we the Rakyat are determined to, now more than at any one time before, are a family of good, true and loyal citizens of Malaysia, that we will, let it be said with deternination and courage never ever forget that our collective strength lies here on this sacred soil which we all affectionately call Malaysia, our very own, beloved native land.

i wudnt mind volunteering. except that ABU must also include the UMNO culture that resides in PKR – you know what i’m talking about – until then this movement will die the slow death of a partisan hackery – stop being hypocritical Haris, wake up and smell the UMNO in both coalitions. When are you going to stop working for PR and start working for the rakyat?
