Many people wrote in response to my earlier article on the Fear Factor, informing me that, nowadays, ANY kind of mark, so long as it is within the allotted space, is accepted as a valid vote. I suspect that BN had been losing many votes because of objections over the mark made by voters. Whatever the case, this is something i was not aware of.
I could write this as a response to my earlier article but, I fear, it may get buried deep inside th message list and be missed. It is important that anyone who has been stuck in the old world of elections has to be made aware of the current situation. People must be alerted to the reality that putting some other mark to spoil a vote will not work. That strategy will backfire.
It is time to reach out to those afraid to deny BN a vote and educate them. I am sure there are many who still carry the secret fear that, somehow, the authorities will find out what they did, and it will impact their government jobs or pensions. Despite their desire to vote against BN, their fear prevents them from placing a mark against the opposition logo. So they place a protest vote against BN.
I know some such people. I will be working on persuading them that, this time, there is no serial number and there is no way to trace individual votes. Anyone else who knows of such persons should do their part… and pass the word around to others as well. Put your X against any of the Barisan Rakyat logos.
Meanwhile, we should also alert people that the change in acceptance of the voting mark should not be taken as a license. The EC could change their mind and restore the X as the only valid voting mark. Therefore it is important that people get used to placing the X against their preferred party/candidate.
Hopefully, for the next GE, we will have a unified Barisan Rakyat logo to place our X against.
Onward Barisan Rakyat.

Hi. Anyone being blocked from visiting Malaysia Today website?
I think there is a new trick in blocking access to MT. I’m accessing internet via celcom 3g. Could it be i’m blocked at operator level?
The message says i hv broken some MT rule and barred from it. I’m not even a registered user of MT, just visitor only. All the more to v4c.

There’s another group of voters whose fear needs to be allayed. Most chinese businessmen are for BN for fear that their businesses will be jeopardized or victimised by the party. Hopefully, their mindset can be changed.
P.S. I am experiencing the same problem at MT too.

SV,
Are the following your Key NOTES to VOTERS,
1. DON’T PUT a “X” on BN if anyone want to spoil their vote by crossing out BN!!
2. When Voting, make sure any mark be WITHIN the ALLOCATED SPACE for the Candidate to be Voted!
3. DON’T put any mark onto BN location, If UNHAPPY with any BN party but any other Space for non-BN!!
For Chinese Businessman, if credibility of government is broke, and, need to press repeatedly and repeatedly for anything to come, the BASIS for life isn’t around, so CAN BUSINESS be expected to be with Peace of Mind??
Or, earn hard to Donate before your kids could have proper Chinese Education
and drive with Toll to be siphoned into Pockets of those crooks?
Or, one-eye closed even to buy a “Home”!!

Hi Mr Singam,
You hit the mark right on the spot !
We in SiPM believe that such mind tricks may even work in urban areas, where voters are more well read, educated and more aware of their rights. Stay tuned then for our bid to go all the way with the unveilling of our ballot symbol.

Hello Mr Singam,
Are you sure there will be no serial number on the ballot paper itself? The last time I voted, the serial number is printed on it.
If there were really no serial number, is it safe? They can still use some “invisible ink” that can only be viewed with certain equipment, like the ultraviolet light.
Anyhow, I am proud of myself to vote freely, just that some friends that work for the government or live on government sub-sub-sub-contract are so difficult to persuade.
