Political, religious and social and civil society leaders owe the people the truth.
Not half-truths, but the whole truth.
Take BERSIH’s initiative to ensure free and fair elections in this nation.
First, a concerted effort to appraise the people of the flaws in the system and the wanton cheating that has been going on for so long.
The whole truth was presented to the rakyat.
Then, the three BERSIH rallies to demonstrate to the authorities that the demand for free and fair elections came from the rakyat, in large numbers, and from all walks of life, and that the people were united in pursuing this reform.
Again, the whole truth.
Yet, all of this begged answers to two all-important questions.
First, would UMNO / BN give us the reforms demanded before the 13th GE?
Second, if they would not, then what?
I was therefore pleased when, on 17th December, last year, at a press conference, BERSIH chairperson Ambiga said it like it is.
“Can we Malaysians expect true reform before the general election? The answer is no. We concluded this given the conduct of the EC to date”, FMT reports Ambiga as saying.
At that press conference, Ambiga clarified that there are “no plans to go to the street as the elections are already so near” and that, instead, Bersih would be focusing on two campaigns to help overcome the dirty electoral roll: the Jom 100 campaign and the Jom Pantau campaign.
Now all that remains is for Ambiga to step forward, shed BERSIH’s non-partisan stance and deliver this unequivocal message to the rakyat : UMNO / BN will not heed the call of the rakyat for reforms. The time has come to bury UMNO / BN.
No half-truths.
No non-partisan bullshit.
Just one message.
Bury UMNO / BN!
Ambiga should draw inspiration from anti-Lynas leader Wong Tack.
These last few years, the anti-Lynas campaign has again and again taken the demands of the rakyat to the UMNO / BN government : We, the rakyat, do not want Lynas processing rare earth here. Save Malaysia. Stop Lynas.
Like the drive by the BERSIH coalition, the efforts by the anti-Lynas coalition begged answers to the very same questions.
Would the UMNO / BN government heed and adhere to the demands of the rakyat?
Second, if they would not, then what?
The government has not heeded our call, and the processing plant has since started operations.
On 20th December, last year, after the successful completion of the 300km Green Walk from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur, and at a press conference to announce 2 other anti-Lynas efforts, this is what this giant of a Malaysian said :
“We are carrying out a campaign for 100 days to bring down Lynas and to bring down the dark forces behind the corrupt regime…clearest message to the nation and the world that foreign corporate coloniser must be immediately evicted from this country and the dark forces behind them must be exposed and removed from position and power”.“We will do everything we can within these 100 days to bring down Lynas and prevent the corrupt regime from returning to Putrajaya” .
No half-truths.
No non-partisan bullshit.
Just one message.
Bury UMNO / BN!
FMT has the report here.
That same day, just before Wong Tack’s press conference, the NGOs driving the Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat KL112 rally this Saturday held their press conference at the same venue.
First, my friend, Hisham Rais, and then my other friend, Mat Sabu, urged the rakyat to come out in full force to make known their grievances and demands.
During Q&A, I had a question, the answer to which would help me decide if I would attend.
My question : “UMNO / BN have already demonstrated that they will not give the rakyat the reforms and changes we want. Are we gathering on the 12th to again present demands to a government that is not listening to the people? If so, tell me now and I shall not be there”.
Mat Sabu responded : “Make your demands to the new government-in-waiting, and if they fail to deliver, continue protesting”.
No half-truths.
No non-partisan bullshit.
Just one message.
Bury UMNO / BN!

The fact of the matter is being against one party is NOT partisan. PR is NOT EVEN a party..Its unregistered improbable coalition for practicality because it takes so much to go after this one party..If there are new parties like for example Hindraf, ABU is also with them.. So who says ABU is partisan..Likewise, Bersih will be partisan either because its against one party…

Yes, the Rakyat wants change, because its legimate demands have not been met, by a government more interested in looking after and preserving its corrupted self…..but the change that the Rakyat want is a change from worse to better. And at no other time than at present, has the Rakyat felt so cheated so demoralized, so mis-used. So deprived and so determined is its thirst.for change.
The Rakyat has to believe that a PR government can bring about the change, no matter how difficult, how up-hill the task , how inconvenient or how slow it is going to be.
They also have good men and true…
Why…when we gave the BN government 55-long years and tolerated its reeks of corruption, is it so unreasonable to give the opposition a chance to prove its worth or not…
And the more the Rakyat feels rejected the more is its resolve and will….. to DN/BN…..

Anti lynas proponents are a bunch of liars. It’s not even half truths but blatant lies. For years already no anti lynas proponent can articulate their objection. They have changed goalposts after goalposts. It’s been lies after lies and ridiculous posturing. The truth lies in the IAEA report which many don’t even care to read.
And before we get to the useless posturing, I’m stating upfront that im willing to stay there provided you provide at least a similar income for me. And further don’t provide stupid argument that any country which export minerals is obliged to take the waste after being used by another country. You know how ridiculous this sound but these are the level of immaturity.
And for the sake of knowing where I’m getting at, I’m a proponent of nuclear power plant in Malaysia long before lynas and Fukushima. There are issues in the plant but these ridiculous anti lynas proponents have blown it out of any logical proportion.

Ellese,
You are missing the point.
I don’t care what IAEA says or report
I don’t care what MB of Pahang says.
Neither I care a hoot what UMNO says about Lynas.
Ellese, I do not bother what you says too.
We, the Rakyat do not want Lynas to be in Malaysian soil. We are not interested in the foreign investment neither are we interested in the job opportunities created.
We want Lynas out of Malaysia. It is as simple as that.
Is it that difficult to faham?

Ellese, you little troll,
Like you, I am also a proponent of nuclear power and have been for a while.
The problem with nuclear power has always been the disposal of radioactive nuclear waste.
Lynas does not have an acceptable plan for the disposal of it’s radioactive waste.
As usual, your arguments are exactly the same as those of your puppet-masters.
So much for writing your own views!!! 🙂
Ellese
January 8, 2013
Please stop lying. There’s no puppet master. If you persist in name calling I will do so.
I think you’re strange and want to call your bluff. Calling yourself proponent of power plant and agreeing with most of the rubbish argument of the proponents of lynas are inconsistent.
Lets take through. We will touch on disposal on a much detail level. But you need to put a stand rather than changing goal post. Apart from the waste disposal, do you have any other objections on rhe process and why? If no do you agree that most of the anti lynas argument like wave etc etc above are rubbish?
Ps: have you googled the uk and Singapore civil servants number? My second time asking on your supposedly truth. If you’ve answered tell me where. Please note that I don’t take kindly people deviating three times.
Ellese
January 8, 2013
I take that your line of argument is that you don’t want the plant so government should not have the plant. Please don’t change this line of argument.
First in all civil society if you want to object there must be reasonable grounds. In all matters, there are competing interests. An owner of the land should have the right as an owner of the land. He must however take note if there’s any reasonable objection. Thus wave etc etc if you want to renovate and build a house it’s reasonable for you to comply with a request not to renovate not it to a ten story house in a one storey housing development. But it’s grossly unfair if they object you because they don’t like you face. In such a case you may continue to build.
This ground of argument that you object for the sake of objecting is very wrong. It’s arbitrary selective non judicious and unfair. It’s contrary to any PR and civil society stand and this turns off people from PR. You cannot say you object ikut suka hati Mak Datuk aku because I can say I want lynas coz why? Coz ikut suka hati Mak Datuk aku. There will be no end. Civil society is not about this.
Your type of objection will fail in Australia uk us and all developed countries. You will be fried by media there for having no ground. No doubt about it. You can challenge me on this point.
Please gain your senses. What is right is right. What is wrong is wrong. Go to the IAEA report. I’m not an engineer but it contains a universal truth following international standards and convention. Follow what is right in an issue. Don’t follow lies and deceit.

Hello, Ellese, you little troll,
As usual, you continue to spout the views of your puppet-masters whilst claiming these are your own views 🙂 I have seen enough trolls to get an idea of how they work.
I am not particularly inclined to discuss any other aspect of Lynas until a safe and acceptable method for the disposal of radioactive waste is found. As a so-called proponent of nuclear power, you should understand why.
BTW, rare earths are not really used for nuclear power but I think we can agree they are pretty similar in some ways, eg waste disposal problems.
Re your bleatings about statistics and ratios in the civil service, I consider the matter closed as I am reasonably good at playing with numbers myself and I will prefer my own analysis to yours 🙂
Troll-Ellese, I am glad you were not banned from this blog as you are make me look good. I don’t normally win many arguments here but I seem to have little trouble with you. 🙂

Ellese, you have missed the point. You can get IAEA to manage Lynas and Malaysians will still protest. It’s the Malaysian Government that people protest against. It’s the 55 long years of cheating that people are protesting against. It’s not about nuclear plants, rare earth plants or …….. it’s about a rogue, decayed regime.

Dear all,
You must read IAEA. In all cases you must be reasonable. You are objecting because you don’t like UMNO. But there’s competing interest there. There are people being affected. This is not right.
IAEA was part of the public process. It’s highly unreasonable for one to disregard it simply because they don’t like the finding.
What I hate is pr pure politicking disregarding the interest of rakyat. How would you feel if pr rules, BN object and gather tons of mass protest for the sake of objecting and based on a false premise? It’s wrong kan and should be condemned.
Please lah. Be civilized. Know what we want and be reasonable. The anti lynas proponent totally turned off many of this gutter politics. The tmi and pro pr blogs are doing similar to Utusan by not being objective and truthful. We need an objective media spreading true fair and balance reporting. Somehow Malaysians can’t grasp this. To them free media is one which publishes what they believe and censor contrarian views. Thus we get lies after lies. And these people believe in the lies forgetting they fabricated it in the first place. A classic example is the civil service stats. It was first spun by a dap pro propagandist on tmi and then people believe in the lies. Shameful and memalukan.

What do you do when you have a rotten apple, guava or anything for that matter, you have to throw away the rotten fruit, period. Otherwise it will not only contaminate all the other apples with it or worse it will turn the other apples or fruits with it not only smelling rotten but rotten.
This is what Umno has become, beyond salvation just like the apple, one cannot just cut away the rotten part when you still have the rest of the apple to eat. The rot started with the dismissed (for good reason) grand son of the pariah from Kerala, the shenanigan Mahathir was restored as an Umno member and even became the education minister. The rot began to spread and by now not only the education system in the country is in a bloody shamble and the rot has spread to all the rest of the cabinet. It is now way beyond salvation !
Therefore, the only way out of this unfortunate episode of Malaysia is to have Umno thrown into the bin and be buried in the dump. Just like when you have cancer in part of your hand cut off to save the rest of your body.
Make sure you come out to kick the scumbags, parasites and most of all the Umno made Malays out of Putrajaya in the GE. Better still have these, Satan in disguise, indicted and also have all their ill gotten gains, including the US$44- billion dollars of the shenanigan Mahathir, the richest man of Asia have hidden all over the world, seized and repatriated back to where they belong, Malaysia. This is the only chance to make Malaysia even richer than Singapore.

On lynas, don’t hide under the pretext of a general safety argument and claim you’re a proponent of nuclear power plants. If you are really a nuclear power plant proponent you would know that it carries a lot of safety risk but its manageable. The way anti lynas proponent argue by scaring people with stupid unreasonable facts is detrimental to having a nuclear power plant. I think you’re bluffing again and take you on. I read the comments on this blog by AABM & Ellese. We can see the great difference of thinking. The former argue based on entirely emotion ( hatred ) unlike the later use he/her thinking cap and being rational where what is right IS right and what is wrong is wrong.
We should learn what is happening around us and be carefull in making decision on something big issue as change of government. This is not a child play. Change for the sack of changing is not wise at all. Change for the better, governmen or anything needs strategic thinking with clear mind and indepth analysis. I and I believe majority would agree that demonstration is not the best way to achieve peaceful change. We have to understand the complexity of our multi-racial, multi-religions and multi-cultural and it is a dangerous situation if not done in proper way through dialoge and tolerance. Talking is cheap but to manage successfully and resposibly is different ball game altogether. I agree not that BN or UMNO for that matter is perfect but so are the others. We have to accept that politicians whether pro or anti government I could say are 2 evils ( with motivation for power & wealth ) and we the people have no other choice but to choose the better of the two. And we have to carry on to live with it on daily basis to care for our family as nobody will do for us but ourselves.

Changing a Government is not child’s play, as you rightly pointed out. It has taken Malaysians a very long time to realise that Barisan Nasional is not the only type of “adult” available to run the show.
Multi-racial, multi-religious, multi-cultural? Well, to be honest with you, I am not fazed by any of that as long all those multis are Malaysians first. I don’t really care, in a caring sort of way, in what comes second 🙂

If you can honestly answer this question then we have no need for these talks of peaceful change, dialogue and tolerance as suggested by you. But when you have to make a distinction between what is moral and ethical, and what is legal, you know your country is dying. The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principles on which it was founded.
I stood witness to the birth of this nation of the same principles on which it was founded. A nation known as Malaya then, and Malaysia now.
