It looks like PJ Selatan is going to be the pioneer constituency in this civil society effort.
As at 7.30pm on 17/4/2007, 5 citizens from PJ Selatan have got on board. The target is a team of 10.
So can 5 PJ Selatanites out there hit thepeoplesparliament@gmail.com so that we can start planning for the first ‘Get to know your MP’ initiative.
I have been humbled by the response to the announcement of this initiative. Can I ask though, that those who have sent in comments, please consider offering to help get this off the ground in their respective constituencies? Send an e-mail. We only need 10 from each constituency to start the ball rolling.
Oh, and I have not forgotten the first list of ‘Situation Vacant’ seats. Coming soon.

Congratulations! It’s about time we provide a report card for all our MPs, Minister, Menteri Besar, State Assembly Mens be they from the ruling or opposition party.
Let’s provide them with a Rating system, just like we rate the hotels. We should provide an objective reports card on all our elected representative on their background, their comments, their beliefs, their positions in various issues and let the Rakyat decides on their fate comes every election! Let’s provide a respected portal for all MALAYSIAN.

I’m a resident of Section 5 PJ.(PJ Selatan).Unlike the late V.David who was the MP here in the 1980’s,the cuurent MP has not been seen or heard.Residents don’t even know how to reach him.
At a recent meeting with residents of Sect 5,the cops got a earful on increasing crime rates,poor response time etc.
“Where the hell is our MP?”everyone wandered aloud.

Sure.I’ll bring another two.What do we do from here?I can tell you there a lot of disgruntled residents in Sec 5,6,8 and 10.Residents are also wondering why is the Polis Bergerak van “ronda”ing in Section 6 only?We hardly see this van in the other parts of PJ.
