Pak Lah reportedly sees this as an uncouth act. Why angry with the flag, he asks.
Duh!
Uncouth, or are these quite acceptable for you?
Pak Lah also thinks that displaying this national symbol upside down is evil.
As evil as these, Pak Lah?
You place greater importance on our national symbols than on our nationals?
And you cannot see then that this might truly be a nation in distress?
Symbols count for nothing with me, sorry.
I’m a people person.
And right now, the people of this country are living in hell!
BN hell!
So I will fly the flag to reflect the state of things until the people are rid of you and the rest of the thieves from BN.
In fact, why don’t you and your deputy join the flag!

when it involves BN and their cronies, Pak Lah sees no evil, hears no evil and says no evil. BN is almost like god, they are so good…boleh piiilah BN and Pak Lah.
There is so much evil in BN and yet he see fit to talk about the flag which I disagreed as well on flying upside down. But Pak Lah doesn’t know about it and I’m sure the MSM will spin it that flag upside down is evil!!!

Dear Haris
Looks like we have to keep promoting awareness of what Good Governance is all about until it becomes a reality in our beloved Malaysia.
——————————————————
Here are the universal principles of good governance and rule of law …..
Can we learn from the Iraqi experience???
A global consensus recognizing that good governance is vital for economic development and poverty alleviation has emerged. Good governance provides an enabling environment for general economic development, human resources development, ensuring the prevention and resolution of conflict. All these elements are essential to build a firm common ground for Iraqi national reconciliation. Good governance, as we know, is a pillar of democracy. Finding a consensus on a definition of the concept of good government has not been easy. Does it apply to just sound administration and management or does it also refer to the political domain and political leadership? Is it a universal principle or does it vary according to context? This vagueness raises the risks associated with applying a concept, which may not be rooted in the particular socio-cultural and political environment of Iraq. It is generally accepted that in the context of a political and constitutional environment that upholds human rights, democratic principles and the rule of law, good governance is the transparent and accountable management of human, natural, economic and financial resources for the purpose of equitable and sustainable development. Citizens expect the government to respond to their needs through a systematic process of accountability, transparency, and checks and balances. Good governance ensures that political, social, and economic priorities reflect broad consensus, that decision-makers represent the voices of the poorest and the most vulnerable in allocating development resources, and that the rights of the people are respected. It entails clear decision-making procedures at the level of public authorities, transparent and accountable institutions, the primacy of law in the management and distribution of resources and capacity building for elaborating and implementing measures aimed in particular at preventing and combating corruption. Essentials of Good Governance, The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) defines good governance as “the responsible exercise of political, economic and administrative authority in the management of a country’s affairs at all levels”. Good governance, among other things, is participatory, transparent, accountable, effective, equitable, and fair. It promotes the rule of law. Participation ensures an open, inclusive, participatory political system. It involves citizens in the decision-making process and in implementing public projects orother government activity. Participation goes beyond mere consultation and implies the existence of opportunities to contribute through gainful employment; opportunities to move in the mainstream of political, economic, and cultural processes and the eradication of the marginalization of groups and discrimination, poverty, and deprivation; and freedom from vulnerability through a guaranteed system of social safety nets and social security systems. To this end, good governance embraces the concept of devolution of power to local authorities and communities. The right of citizens to participate in the conduct of public affairs is more directly exercised at local levels. The existence of local authorities that are given real responsibilities can provide an administrative system that is both effective and close to the citizen. Transparency involves establishing appropriate lines or forms of accountability between the government and the public, which should include access to information through suchmeasures as freedom of information legislation, open decision-making, and rules ofsubstantive and procedural fairness. The rule of law assumes the existence of inalienable rights and liberties for every citizen, which governments should not touch or violate. To some extent the essence of the rule of law lies in its juxtaposition to “the rule of men or women”. This aphorism seeks to state the following basic principles: that all state power ought to be exercised under the authority of law; and rules of law should govern the election and appointment of those who make and execute policy, as well as the manner in which such policies are made and executed to ensure rationality and fairness in the decision-making process. In addition, good governance must assure the equal participation of women with men in all processes of governance. Only complete equality between men and women in all legal, political, and social arrangements can create the proper conditions for human freedom and good governance. Establishment and protection of good governance whatever the case, it is agreed that good governance is above all a domestic issue and inadequate domestic policies have played a role in widening the gap between rich and poor and achieving good governance is a process which must come from within andsteps must be taken to support and recognize genuine initiatives to attain it. Transparency, good governance and development are closely linked and together they become a vehicle to improve the human condition. The promotion of good governance requires a determined campaign against corruption, which is one of the most concrete expressions of misadministration. The quality of the administration of a country’s resources is an essential factor that explains its development performances — good or bad. Good governance is the true test of democracy. A government, which administers scarce resources in accordance with the real needs of the population, must be fundamentally democratic.
The political, judicial and intellectual elite must be benchmark and models of integrity. The political leadership must be genuinely determined to attack the problem of corruption and must demonstrate that determination. Good governance like democracy must not be allowed to become just another slogan – a false front to placate the providers of funds. Experience shows that it is unrealistic to hope to change things at the instigation of civil society alone. The essential first step is to influence public opinion and make decision-makers and the public at large aware of the devastating effects of misadministration. Underemployment, inadequate or sporadic employment and low wages continue to contribute to a high level of poverty in Iraq which in turn feed the militias and terrorists groups. We have to extricate ourselves from our backwardness by building a strong and democratic Iraq. Debates on national issues are healthy and should continue even after the national reconciliation. Different point of views should be respected. After all, “in a democracy dissent is an act of faith, like medicine, the taste of its value is not in its taste, but in its effects.”
Conclusion
The success of efforts to improve governance, the respect of human rights and the rule of the law throughout Iraq will depend on the development and strengthening of institutions that underpin good governance, democracy and the rule of law. With respect to the current political process, these efforts cannot succeed unless economic conditions in Iraq improve and develop to a level where Iraq is able to develop and sustain the institutions necessary to promote governance, the protection of human rights and the rule of law. Good governance cannot flourish along side grinding poverty and weak state institutions.

Dear Haris,
We are not born racist but racism breeds racism. Am I wrong to be a racist to fight the racist policies of BN? The last I can remember any government which practised blatant racism, including a good segment of religious fanatics besides the then South Africa.
You are a few good men in Malayisia. Unfortunately, your own race may question your or people like Malik values.
The days school children rush to friends house to enjoy thosai with chicken curry on deepavali is hard to see nowadays. Even, when we offer food some thow them away. Some need to be convinced that it was indeed halal.
Wonder if our hospitals blood bank segregate the blood beside A,B,O and halal and haram?
But I have no heart to see my country’s flag to fly upside down even though I would be asked to balik India. You too, please don’t.

Haris,
Well said.
That Pak Blur is a tragicomedy of a leader. A truly sad sad example of what a leader should not be.
Dr M is therefore right to regret over this mistake of epic proportion.
Each time I see that Pak Blur’s grin in the newspaper, I have this irresistable urge to give him a good smack in the face.
He twiddles his fingers and plants a sapling while Malaysia burns and is torn apart by racial lava.
Have you ever noticed that his speeches or remarks are very often prefaced with “I want…..”? It tells a lot. does it not? A leader that is only good at wishing and wanting but does almost nothing to make those wishes and wantings come true.
I cannot wait for the 12th GE, Haris. Principle over party hopping can wait. Now is not the time to indulge in political correctness because the playing field is never ever going to get level and fair.
Our beloved Malaysia is in critical condition.
A deep surgery is required to remove the stinking cancerous cells identified as “BN”.
I see no other leader who is able to give us the opportunity to chart a new course except Anwar, whatever our misgivings about his past may be.

Haris,
Heard that UMNO is playing serious racial seditious issue at the issue of Warta Parlimen Permatang Pauh. I do not know how true is it as I do not have a copy. But would love you to read it and repost the main content to us.
I am feeling extremely uneasy and insecure just because I am one of the minority race who just respect the others without questioning their privilage right. Yet, I can feel that, we were now being pushed to the cliff. By our surviving instinct I wonder how long more can we hold on our patience.
I am proud to be a Malaysian, I born here and I would love to cremate myself here in this beautiful homeland. But will I still be accepted as part of the family just because my ancestors migrated from “oversea”?
Now I can totally understand why most of peers are getting their PR citizenship out of M’sia.
Is a sad Merdeka month and I will hang the flag upside down just to express my disatisfaction.

Dear Harris,
Always been a great admirer of you and your blogg. Time and time i felt that it is time for us, rakyat to show our displeasure by flying the flag up side down as to how the people are treated in our country. I love this country so much but the country has gone to dogs now. We need to do some thing about it.
I agree completly what littebird had said gone are the days where we have our friends coming to our house and enjoying a meal without offending us.
I know times during Christmas where my moslem brothers and sister would come to my house and share with the food and goodies with us in the Christmas spirit till late at nite or sometimes when their partents start calling my house to enquire whether their children are at my place.
The only question that I would like to have an answer why are the Christians, Hindus, Moslem, Buddhist can live near eachother in Medan or any part of Indonesia without a single problem.
You see sign board stating “Babi Panggang” in one shop and altough the shop next to it might be a moslem shop. They do not see it as a problem.
This doesn not happen in our beloved country where you cut a cow in public altough you might be offending a Hindu person but you cannot do the same when you slaughter a pig. It is offending to moslems. Why the double standard.
I have alot of friends of different religion (during the 70’s n 80’s) we still keep in touch. But these days you do not see that! Why?
I think we have to point our finger to the Politicians and nobody else. They are the people who are causing all these problems and confusing the RAKYAT.
The only soloution is to get rid all the politician who are connected to the Barisan Nasional whether UMNO, MIC, MCA , Gerakkan, PPP and etc.
VOTE FOR CHANGE for the better administration of the country and state.

If yer still insist on going for the reverse JG thingy, get a photo of these two dodo birds which has the JG in the background and post it upside-down for Merdeka Day. That way yer hit the two buffoons with one click of the mouse.

May I humbly disagree with you? One does not have to be a racist to fight another racist. Why stoop to their level? You will be no better than they are if you do and you are much better than them. Fight them but not at their level please. Rise above them and fight like Haris and many right thinking Malaysians. Civil and peaceful disobedience. Criticise and be vocal (without the profanity). Show the brotherly/sisterly love for your fellow Malaysians. You can consider yourself successful if you can get even 1 racist to see the light and repent.
I fully embrace Haris and his friends cause of forming a true SATA BANGSA MALAYSIA where every citizen is equal. That has been my dream and good men (and women) are making that a reality soon.

Actually, does anyone feel that Abdullah is the very image of some Malays are trying to discard off? Or should I also say the image others have of a typical Malay?
You pointed out that we have been planted with racial seeds that we have a vivid pre-conception of how each race should be.
Ironically and not so coincidentally, we have the PM just exactly like what the brief says – “All Malays are stupid, lazy and dependent on government handouts!”. Abdullah is exactly like that. We have a leader, whose actions or inactions show that he is indeed the fruition of the country’s racial policies so far.
Years after being in the top position – what has he done? All he has said are things like “uncouth action of an upside down flag”, “of course he would deny it, anyone would” and “I don’t believe Najib was involved”, whilst happily buying houses in Australia using the people’s money. If this was on Project Runway, Nina Garcia and Michael Korrs would applaud him for perfecting the design!
For the still “lazy, stupid and dependent” Malays – the question for you is: you can either wake up, or let the blind lead the blind. For all its worth, Abdullah is exactly how the leader of such a group should be!

Why is our UMNO leaders so fury about the Malaysian Flag getting upside down and wanted to take action against that person? They should be upset that the whole Malaysia is already upside down , not the Flag.
The admin, policies, resources, finance, judiciary…etc everything are upside down. The govt had no feelings and no actions taken instead. Keep on using deplorable tactics to attack the oppositions.
Yeah you may say they are now doing the job. Look ACA is now arresting people. Huh? Arrest and questioning only,no charges,no penalty or become no news. All just for show like the wind flip-flopping the leaves of a tree.
The Flag is only a symbol. What more matter is the systems of the country.Once seeing the Flag, the foreigners and Malaysians 1st thought are ‘Oh this country now very terrible, very corrupted, very upside down.’ The govt are the one who have no respect to Malaysia as this perception is caused by them.

Muslims are easily enraged each time someone mentions something unsavoury about Islam. They will claim their religion is being insulted and threaten to burn places or even kill.
Now, look at this same people who claim to belong to such a holy religion acting in such a despicable manner. Just look at your top picture. I am sure no other race/relgious people in this country will ever perform this act in public.
The dirty tactics employed in PP by-election is actually insulting themselves and their faith.

Mr Haris,
I am Malaysian. The flag is mine too. Please put it the right way up. You are upset about the state of the country. So is every other Malaysian I know. Yes, the flag is only a symbol but We have had heroes who DIED bloody deaths to keep the flag up!! You disrespect the sacrifices of these heroes, much as I lose respect for you for ‘downing’ the flag. Other than that, I’m with you with your other struggle for a Bangsa Malaysia.
ibat,
Respect for me is unimportant.
I beg to differ with you when you say I show disrespect for those heroes who gave their lives to keep the flag up.
Firstly, they gave their lives so that following generations might be free of tyranny.
Seen in that light, I think that by inverting the flag I honour those fallen heroes.

The national flag is more then just a symbol. To me its represent the peoples of Malaysia, the good the bad,the beautiful the ugly, the wise and unwise, the crooked and clean… the whole spectrum of what makes a society.
Response : If indeed the flag is to represent the people of Malaysia as they are now, then it is properly upside down. Oil-producing country with all the wealth therefrom squirreled away to a point we are now paying through our noses for fuel.
Singapore has hardly any natural resources but is able to establish world class institutions of study and research. What do we produce with our abundant wealth? Mat Rempits and ghetto thugs!
Tell me, Richard, how you would display the flag to represent those in ISA?
Build another world’s tallest flagpole outside the Kamunting detention centre and hoist it up high?
Or what, they are out of sight and so out of mind? Less people then us?
Tell me now or forever hold your peace!
Yes, you go ahead and feign good reasons for national pride. I will not delude myself.
To me the flag can do no wrong.
Response : Please lah, Richard, don’t start talking like Pak Lah. Who ever said anything about the flag doing anything wrong?
If our beloved country is under attack from a foreign force then perhaps I agree our nation is under distress and in that circumstances flying the flag upside down is required.
Response : Oh, under attack from a foreign force can fly the flag upside down. Then it is not unpatriotic.
Under attack from within how? Enemy from within how? Enemy from within destroying the very fabric of our society with racist agendas how? Fly the flag with pride, is it?
Simply put it affects ALL of us.
In the scenario before us you claim the nation is in distress. Are you speaking on behalf of everyone? If you are then I see I have no quarrel with you.
Response : I am speaking on behalf of myself and anyone else who feels that there is no reason at this juncture for any sense of national pride with what we see before us, and that we need to wake up to the truth and to stop pretending that everything is fine.
I agree many feel let down by the BN goverment and we deeply desire a change for the better. The voice of the majority who voted in the ruling party must be respected.
I agree many of us (as opposed to ALL) are in distress over the administration and policies of our goverment but the people has made its choice. Those who did, are they in distress?
Response : Have you asked them?
So to justify hoisting the flag upside down claiming the nation is in distress is questionable.
Response : I will respect your right to question my methods

I am very surprised that there are still many people out there who don’t realise that the upside down flag is a symbol of distress, and not a mark of disrespect. I remember at the time when the late Sudirman donned a Malaysian flag costume and prancing about on stage, I was shell shocked in disgust even though I admired his talent and enjoyed his singing immensely. But I noticed also that the BN leaders were singing praises on his patriotism. Even the mamaks were wearing the Jalur Gemilang songkok on their greasy head as part of their uniform. For these, I am truly upset and offended.

I agree with you. I should have put racist in inverted commas. I was never conscious about my race. I hate to put my race as India(n) because India is a foreign land to me. But after seeing the racism in Malaysia I started to think about my race also. I started to read in my mother tongue etc etc. But the truth is my best friends are Malay Muslims but now I realised that I am not just Mlaysian but Indian Malaysian or Malaysian Indian. Thanks to BNs racial policies. But also thanks for making me aware of my own race which I would have bothered if not for BN.

Thank you PM, DPM, BN, UMNO & all your running dogs, you are definitely scraping not the “Bottom of the Barrel” but “Below the Barrel” with this P.P P44 bye-elections.
I can already smell “The dawn of a new Malaysia for Malaysians (Anak Bangsa Malaysia !)”. …where EVERY Malaysian citizen can DREAM of, be GIVEN the OPPORTUNITY to work hard towards it & ACHIEVE the “Malaysian Dream”.
Let us all not be DISTRACTED by other ISSUES , DEVIATIONS, etc…INSTEAD, to concentrate the Permatang Pauh P44 seat to ensure the BN, UMNO & the “Powers-that-be” are eliminated once for all.
For now until the polling day, Let us all UNITE, FOCUS, STRATEGISE & ACT aggressively but WISELY towards this DESTINATION to WIN this P44 seat.
May God continue to Bless & Protect you & the many other “Defenders of Truth, Justice & Freedom” for Malaysia & its rayaat in our nation’s struggle to that “Destination Dream”. Insha’Allah.
Way to go Bro.

Bro,
I think the folks waving Ringgit notes at the BN politicians like Nagib was just brilliant. Can we use that too as a rallying point against the BN?
May I suggest something. Recall that horror movie where in the movie a particular dark haired ‘hantu’ girl would appear in every photograph taken of the movie’s main character?
Or the movie Damien where every picture of the boy Damien would have a mysterious light at one corner?
So everytime you run a picture of the BN goons, make sure to superimpose a bunch of Ringgit notes somewhere in the corner of the picture. Everytime we see BN politicians, wave Ringgit notes at them.
The word you used ‘thieves’ is so apt. As we speak another RM18.0 Billion is at stake. Wifi contract konon.

Pak Lah continues to major on the minors and minor on the majors. He cannot see beyond the physical view of a flag upside down. He cannot comprehend the significance of WHY it is upside down and he cannot see that it has to do with how he is mangling (not managing) this nation.
But then again, he is not what he seems. So harping on the flag is just another Paklahrian act – divert attention from the real issues. Yeah, we have had this diversion game for far too long. Divert funds, divert votes…. Someone sure needs to divert from his current position.
And those others arguing that it is wrong to do that to our flag. Why? Nothing on the flag has been changed. No stripe has been removed, nor its colour changed. It is the positioning and only the positioning of the flag that has changed and this reflects truly the upside-downness of our country in terms of its stature among nations, its economic position, its ethical values, its education system that breeds gangsters, the state of its judiciary ( yes, the most senior are not promoted but the most junior are, and isn’t that upside down?)
If your overriding concern is the flag and not the state of this nation, then, for sure, you’ve bought into the Paklahrian doctrine.

CnP from stocktubeWatch out BN, you don’t want to wake up Dirty Harry
Looking at the persistent daily low transaction volume, there’s really nothing much you can do but to ignore the stock market for the time being. I know I’ve said this numerous times but it’s wise that you take a break. Smart monies are not flowing in and unless you wish to get slaughtered, you should just follow the big boys or the market makers. Sometimes if you do not know what to do, then do nothing. If you’re not ready to trade, then don’t trade. If you couldn’t find any good trade, then don’t trade. If you haven’t done your research and homework, then don’t trade. I would rather let go of a trade than to jump into it if I’m not ready.
If you’re hungry for money during the current hungry ghost festival, then go straight to P44 Permatang Pauh. What? The boring by-election again? Hey! Like it or not the candidates are just warming up. The latest news has it that a component party (MCA?) of the ruling government is giving away easy money in return for intelligence feedback. If you’re Chinese you’ll get RM50, if you’re Indian you’ll get RM150 and if you’re Malay your prospect is RM200. Not sure why the different rate but I suppose that’s the order in terms of the intelligence’s value. So go and peek or spy at your neighborhood and pass the information back to the ruling government in exchange for some pocket money?
Badawi rides LRTPrime Minister stole the news today when he took rides on the commuter KTM and Putra LRT train service to get a feel of the transportation problems faced by the people. Big deal! If only he took the LRT train yesterday when there was problem he might not be able to smile. He should try it during peak hour without body guards and the shoe-polishers around him. Don’t stop there yet – try the bus as well and see if he can afford the smile. Where were the monies saved from the previous fuel hike (the 30 cents per liter hike) which was supposed to be used to improve public transportation? Yeah right, the global oil prices shot up and it vaporized into the thin air. But the joke was that the PM was too scared to go to P44 to help his candidate that he preferred to gain some publicity back in the capital.
And boy, the mother of by-election’s campaign is getting dirtier. Despite his promise not to hit below the belt the deputy PM Najib did just that when he can’t resists the temptation to link Anwar with sodomy during his campaign. Frustrated, Anwar threatens to “open can of worms” against Najib. Anwar was referring to the latest allegation of him ogling at the wife of Larut member of parliament (MP) and Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Hamzah Zainuddin a decade ago. Anwar warned Najib that he would not hesitate to expose “Port Dickson” (scandal) if the latter did not stop the personal attacks against him.
He said “I am being very patient all this time, but I would like to warn them not to push me beyond the limit. If I open my mouth on personal matters, Najib will be kept busy answering them for a very long time. I have refrained from doing so, as this is not a personal battle but about the political future of the country … Remember, I too was in the government and I was privy to a lot of information. Najib knows what I know and he knows what I am talking about. Don’t push me to respond or he will regret it”.
Najib Anwar Dirty HarryIt doesn’t take a genius or rocket scientist to guess which “Port Dickson” scandal that Anwar was referring to. Thanks to Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG, stock) now everyone can find out what was the Port Dickson “dark secret” so go figure. It has something to do with the person caught in bed with a famous singer in a Port Dickson hotel room. But then Anwar might have under-estimate the second most powerful man in Malaysia. If he dared to screwed the Mongolian before passed the second-hand shoe to Abdul Razak Baginda (as alleged by Balasubramaniam) do you simply think the deputy PM would give it a damn about him together with the singer, ZZ, at Port Dickson?
Grow up Anwar! You can’t fight the 50-year-old corrupt organization which you were part of it before. Now the ruling government has started to trap your Perak Exco members with corruption, never mind that the housing project doesn’t exist in the first place, and soon the whole Perak government might just collapse. So what if the ruling government abuse military airplane to hijack Lee Chong Wei and force him to go to the Permatang Pauh for cheap campaign publicity? Unless Chong Wei was willing to kiss his hard-earned RM300,000 and monthly RM3,000 pension reward goodbye, he actually has no choice but to act as a clown when he should be with his parents in the first place. So, let’s see if the P44 voters would give the ruling government another kick on its arse again. But watch out BN (ruling government, National Front) – you do not want to wake up the Dirty “Anwar” Harry because he has a huge “Magnum”.

When reading Haris’s blog, it is always very interesting. And also Sloone’s.
I, for one cannot but feels itchy to join in and churns out my idea and feelings towards what this country is heading into.
Firstly, we cannot blame Dolah totally for being in the position that he is now. Don’t you all remember who chose him to be there?
Does Che Det’s name not rings the bell, anyone? Well, Che Det said DSAI is a homo, and does not fit to be the Malaysian PM to succeed him. But why didn’t he pick Najib then? Why picked Dolah instead? Does Che Det had reservations too about Najib being the next PM? Coz definitely Che Det knows too well who Najib is and his social background. So he chose Dolah, right!
And this is supposed to be Che Det’s political gambling and ramblings. But hey look, what Dolah did to him and all his proposed mega projects. Got scrapped by the latter, right? So Che Det wasn’t happy lah!
So he made a 360 degrees turn and gave back his blessings to Najib. But his drama was a little too late. The country is already in a BIG mess.
My conscience tells me that Che Det must have been very regretful now for kicking out DSAI before and told the world that DSAI is not fit to rule Malaysia for the real reasons only known to himself.
At least if DSAI succeds him, all his interests and mega projects would have been restored and maintained. But what can you say, “the rice too well cooked have turned into porridge”. He has only himself to blame.
Che Det thinks that he is invinsible, Maha here and Maha there! But I think then he has forgotten GOD Almighty. He has forgotten God is always watching what HIS servants, be they loyal or not, or all of us humans are doing in this world.
People say that Che Det is always ahead in his thinkings and thoughts. Some may be true, but not always right. For he has been ruling this country for far too long. Its like behind his backyard.
Who can blame him, except the rakyat themselves who gave that mandate to him, right?
So he acted alone in transforming Malaysia then into what it is today, Hurray and kudos to those who supported Che Det then, now and forever.
He ruled with iron fists and messed around with the Parliament, Judiciary, Malay Sultans’ rights, socio and economic matters facing the country then. But now look, what he has gotten us into?
That’s why I say, he has forgotten altogether about GOD! Now, he himself sees what a mess he has done. He stooped so low as to accuse DSAI of something which the latter is not.
He kicked DSAI out from UMNO and TPM, smeared him around the four corners of the world, character-assassinated him, accused him of being US agent and what not!
And most of us Malaysians believe in a so-called great leader like Che Det. What the f…! Most in the cabinet are reluctant to speak out the truth even it matters then and dare not move an inch. How cowards are our elected reps.
Luckily that C-u-r-r-y(Khairy) is not Che Det’s SIL. Otherwise, you can imagine what he will do then. Only God knows. Even now keep your eyes wide open to what this scumbag is doing to the country.
He has the chick to even think of becoming the future leader of this country.
These are the kind of leaders with sick minds and stomach whom most Malaysians elected to office and represent them in Parliament. How shameful and painful it is to be the citizen of this once respected and beloved country like Malaysia.
All the dignities are lost. Malaysia is under siege from some corrupt politicians. Yet nothing is done to correct, correct and correct the situation.
Now the situation seems to be getting more tense and if not handled very carefully can blow out of porpotion. The TIME BOMB IS TICKING!
Whose fault is it? Not Che Det alone. It is the people themselves who supported the present govt are to be blamed. They bask in the bright Malaysian sun with all the wealth and richness that they gained from backing such hypocrite leaders.
Are we all blind to the whole episode? Where goes our moral and Eastern values in supporting such a desperate leader? Knowing fully well that he will stick to power at what ever expense!
So now what? Are we just going to sit idely around, keep scratching our heads and bite our nails and do nothing to correct the wrongs?
As a Malay, I feel most hurt by what have transpired then and now. When will all this circus ends?
If Dolah is the chosen one, then why disturb him now? And back to supporting Najib? and Muhyiddin Yassin’s name was also mentioned as a likely PM-in-waiting.
Coz he is seen, I don’t know from which telescope, as the next MR CLEAN. Was that not the title the govt supporters gave Dolah when he was about to succeed Che Det some 10 years ago? Yo, yo, have you all forgotten?
So, Malaysians elected Dolah and BN with the biggest majority ever seen in Malaysian history in the 11th general election. After the 12th elections, suddenly, things turned for the worse for our Mr. Clean. He is humiliated. Even the curses came from UMNO members themselves and his former mentor and the torchbearer, who else, if not Che Det.
Dolah, like DSAI, received almost the same treatment. But Dolah was not accused of sodomy for he is still the Number One man, and is still in UMNO.
But who knows what his fate will be if the ever hungry sharks in UMNO manage to topple him. Ponder Dolah’s fate anyone? I think Dolah is still playing his cards right at the moment. Playing his Aces and not the Jokers as yet.
So what say you all now? … that Dolah is not the right man for the job? Then, who is? …Najib?
If Najib is, well I bet Santa Claus will not be coming down the chimney come this Christmas! He..he..he..There won’t even be snow in the Arctic.
But then again, there are the ‘so-called wise’ Malaysian elderly citizens ever ready to elect people like this at the helm. Why? For the love of UMNO and sake of Malays. What shitttt… (As if the Malays have only one platform to voice out their opinions.
Now Malaysians are at the crossroad! Not knowing exactly who to choose and which party to support.
If you vote PKR, the adviser is accused of being a sodomist. If you vote PAS, the party is too conservative, too Islamic and too village-standard lahhh. If you vote DAP, it is too Chinese lahhh and too many lawyers and ‘rotten’ accountants lahhh and what not!
So, Che Det has learned his lesson well now. If he ever does… He tastes the bitterness of his own medicines. Well, that’s good. At least he’s bitter and soaking wet.
The people now begin to realise and think what Che Det has done to this beloved country of theirs.
To him, nobody is right. All his Number Twos are wrong. That is to his opinion and we can’t blame him for believing his own thoughts. But what are we, the masses, doing following in his footsteps?
Can’t we for a SECOND of our short life think which is right and which is wrong? …. and yet follow him blindly just because he is the PM?
He is playing into all your thoughts, your minds and souls.
That is why I said above, may God grants us HIS forgiveness for what bad we have done to MALAYSIA. And hopefully, I am right in believing, since day one in 1998, that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not do all the things that he was, (and is now accused of again, by the same people but different actors), of doing.
May God protect DSAi and his beloved family and children always.
May God also forgives those who are involved and orchastrated this whole affair against DSAI (only those who have repented) which I say is most filthy, that any right-minded human being will not dare think of doing.
This only serves to show how low a human being can be if they do not use their brains correctly and mannerly. Their ranks in the eyes of God (ALLAH S.W.T. to the Muslims) can be of the lowest kind than that of the animals and the Beasts that God has created! God forbids!
Humbly, I think we should all reflect upon the past and seek ‘where and when’ have we done wrong. Give DSAI the due respect that he deserves. The REAL God’s law is there. What is there to be afraid of? Don’t fabricate stories just to please the few at the top and then, regret later!
Like when some people chose Dolah. Now they regret.
To quote T.S. Dr Koh Tsu Koon – Don’t shoot first, but investigate. Don’t tell half truths. (this saying can be used in the case of DSAI). The right place at the right time.
Personally, I don’t hate Dolah. Its just that he is seen as a weak PM and doesn’t do much to uplift the socio-political and socio-economic standards of the people and the country.
I sincerely hope he is not involved in the present sodomy scam implicating DSAI just to cling on to the prime ministerial position.
We ahve to remember it is not “inherited” to become a leader. It is “chosen” by God. So the responsibility is damn right heavy. It is no laughing matter. And through God, the people themselves have spoken. How? Thru the ballots of course.
But as the saying goes, “the truth will prevail – sooner or later”.
Happy Merdeka Day.
And to those wanting to upside down the national flag. Please don’t do that. I share your grievances, sentiments and understand your feelings too.
Don’t burn the mosquito net out of anger of not being able to kill the ‘insects’.
Before I pen off, I would like to muse a little. “If DSAI is truely wrong, and committed the offence/s that he was/is accused of, then why not the Agong or the Govt do anything to strip him of his Datuk Seri post? Do the same to Wan Azizah too.
This below message is to all you accusers out there who said DSAI is dirty. And to Datuk Seri Wan Azizah!
After all, she is accused of supporting and collaborating with his husband, right?
So where do you put your brains? ….0n your knees???

To Richard Huang – you are reading far too much into a piece of cloth. Meaning is what we ascribe to it. And the meaning must be alive and relevant. It must represent the pride that we have for our beloved, Malaysia.
At this point in our Malaysia history, tell me what do we have to be proud of?
1. like Haris pointed out, we have unearthed thousands of barrels of oil for more than 2 decades, we have rubber, palm oil, hectares and hectare of logs, we are a country surrounded by coast etc. etc. etc. And what do we have got to show for it?
2. our neighbour Singapore has zero, zilch, nada natural resources but its per capita is 4 times ours, its dollar 2.2 higher in value, it has world class universitites and research centres, MRT stations that are more than 2 decades old but looks like brand new and run like clockwork
3. so we have a pair of Twin Towers, yes but we have to pay high income tax, pay countless tolls, road tax, driving license, assessment, quit rent
4. our government hospitals have countless horror stories with endless queues, driving us citizens to exorbitantly high priced private hospitals or you just simply die in whatever ails you because you just cannot afford
5. our schools are wracked by racial polarisation with graduates of dubious qualities
6. our leaders are incapable of saying anything inspiring, much less doing anything proper and right
7. even after 50 years, we still cannot discuss issues like race and religion like adults with the common aim of living harmoniously.
I could go on and on and on and on.
Yes, our beloved Malaysia is sick to the core, and in utter distress.
So, wake up, Richard Huang. The above are important issues that Haris and the rest of us are extremely concerned about.
Speaking glowingly of the flag in abstract and divorced from current realities is ridiculous.

Dear Haris ,
I agree with you on the statement you gave to Ibat.
The Heroes gave their lives not merely on the Flag. It’s their spirits, visions, legacy, integrity, humanity which leave on for generations to understand and be take on as a good lead for the Malaysians to respect through practising them. Unfortunately , their Heroic deeds are going in vain as the freedom of their spirits, visions, humanity…etc are drifting off through the BN ruling.
It’s just like why do prayers and doing sins like corruptions, dirty acts, murder etc later . What is the use of praying if you are in fact stabbing God who promote goodness of mankind? That is truly disrespect to God and the Heroes.

Thank you for your response to my comments aforesaid. Allow me to also reply to your question or else as you have stated I have to forever hold my peace.
Q1: How would I display the flag to represent those in ISA?
A1: The same way yesterday, today and as long I am alive, right way up.
Tell me Haris, will the hoisting up of the flag upside down free the ISA detainees?
Q2:The flag can do no wrong.
A@:AAB plagiarised my comment which I used in reponse to your earlier blog when you first advocated the flag issue.
Q3:Attack from foreign force, can fly flag upside down cos its distress.
A3:I was merely illustrating that if we as a whole nation is in distress then hoisting the flag upside down is perhaps the best way to get the attention and assitance from other nations that we need help to defend us from the invading forces. Of course this act of hoisting the flag upside down was used when communication was not as swift as it is today.
There are better ways to highlight this distress which you have been promoting and educating through your blog which I commend you.
Q4:I speak for myself and anyone else that agree with me.
A4:I have to respect your choice and your opinion as an individual and those who choose to follow you in this issue but with respect, your claim that the nation is in distress (when it is not)to justify your act is misplaced.
Q5: Have you asked them?
A5: Have you? Do you think BN supporters are in distress?
I hope you take this as a friendly discourse rather than a personal attack. I have enjoyed your blog from the moment it was up and will continue to do so.I pray and hope that the day of redemption for our nation is not far off.

To Richard Huang
You said: will the hoisting up of the flag upside down free the ISA detainees?
Me: No, it will not. Not until whoever is the government can see that the ISA is a draconian act and one that should be repealed. But hoisting the flag upside down will let you know that they are indeed in distress. To put the Malaysian flag alongside the ISA detainees and the Kamunting Detention Camp is unimaginable.
You said: The flag can do no wrong.
Me: Of course the flag can do no wrong. It can’t do ANYTHING. Period. It’s what WE do with it that’s the issue here.
You said: hoisting the flag upside down is perhaps the best way to get the attention and assitance from other nations that we need help to defend us from the invading forces.
Me: I’m sorry, but Haris was spot on in his first response. Enemies from within are more dangerous and many more times poisonous compared to enemies from without. In our case, we need to get the attention, not from other nations, but from our own people, our own brothers and sisters, that we need to rise to the occasion.
You said: Do you think BN supporters are in distress?
Me: Quite frankly, I think they’re being duped into thinking they’re not. When the economy is bad, EVERYONE suffers from it, don’t matter who you voted for. When there’s rampant corruption and unaccountable flow of tax money, EVERYONE suffers, don’t matter who you support.
As you’ve said, consider this friendly discourse. No personal attack, coz I don’t know you personally anyway.

Su, thank you for your interceding on behalf of Haris. If you have the time kindly reread ny comments as it answers all your points.
Would you and Haris agree that not all bloggers or readers are with you guys on this flag issue? Is their objections not important for your consideration?
Lastly, the tsunami that swept the political arena on March 8 is indebted to bloggers like Haris etc who not only dissminate correct information but educate the public and champion their rights to a just, trustworthy, accountable goverment.
The atmosphere was already changing even before March 8 when blogs began to sprung up like mushroom in webland. Many has hits which turn them into instant celebrity. The Lingam tape expose which reveal the wheeling and dealing of the judiciary that force the goverment to set up the Royal Commission of Inquiry which would have been buried if not for the far and wide circulation in the blogsphere. The goverment could not ignore and seen not to do anything.
We have already seen the effect and the kind of result that can be yield through our common effort for the good of our country. I call this progress. An achievement that we can be proud of. I am optimistic that our fight against evil will prevail.
I AM NOT DISTRESS because we all shall overcome.

Richard, yes I agree that not everyone is agreeable on the flying of the flag upside down. But then again, we are a dynamic society, and I doubt there is any one view that we could successfully find 100% agreement, and 0% disagreement. There are bound to be dissenting views, whether we like it or not.
If there’s one thing I learnt from keeping my own blog, it’s that if I were to consider every single different view there is to a single issue, I’d be hardpressed to find any one course of action that would satisfy everyone.
Yes, it’s great that we’re seeing a more united civil society today than, say 5 years ago. And yes, the govt cannot afford to sweep everything under the carpet like how it used to.
But for every step that we’re taking to move forward, the govt is also taking counter measures to stop us in our tracks. Take the more recent “warning letters” to Herald, the almost-violent protest against the Bar Council Forum, and the UiTM protests. Threats of using the ISA and the Sedition Act against those who choose to stand up against these unjust times are ringing louder these days.
I too am optimistic that as a united society, we will overcome all this. But I think that being optimistic is different from being lulled into thinking that there is a significant improvement. The Royal Commission on the Lingam Tape was only one step. What happened to the followup investigations?
Being in distress doesn’t mean we’re giving up. First we have to see things the way they are, and not the “beautified” version of what really is.

There is no flag without people because people come before nations and nations before national flags.
The Malaysian flag represents the abstract IDEA the people had/have for their nationhood. The idea and the flag belongs rightfully to every Malaysian, both individually AND collectively, and on a non-mutually exclusive basis.
So every legitimate Malaysian (at heart) has the right to use that symbolic national flag to give expression, albeit respectfully (in order to balance their two competing rights) to the silent voice that belongs to that IDEA named MALAYSIA.
Does this in any way help you to see, Mr Prime Minister, the point of view of the Malaysian people who are flying their flag upside-down in distress?
Can you Mr Prime Minister, see what they are trying to communicate to one and all when, after what I am sure is serious thought, they have taken the decision to support Kickdefella, Haris and Zorro and participate in this legitimate and respectful protest?
If you can, then you may understand and perhaps see that this act of protest is not “despicable or uncouth” at all. And that, by most rational people’s estimation and standards, those adjectives you picked to describe the protesting gesture are more appropriately reserved for the acts and actions clearly depicted in those pictures Haris has posted here on this thread.

Malaysian Wannabe Again
August 23, 2008
Littlebird
I have changed my call sign from ex-Malaysian to Malaysian Wannabe Again, because I am so proud of the new generation of Malaysians and what I can see is going on to make a better Malaysia.
Never ever apologise for your ethnicity or your cultural heritage. That’s what makes Malaysia so unique. You are a Malaysian first (nationality) because of the country of your birth but you are what you are also; an Indian from your roots. Therefore I have always (in the past) call myself a Malaysian Chinese and not a Chinese Malaysian – subtle but a big difference. As us oldies like to say, “the young doesn’t know any better so it is our responsibility to forgive and teach”.
I think this article from John Lee will help some of you who feels lost in your own identity:
http://www.infernalramblings.com./articles/Malaysian_Society/760/ (don’t know how to make this into a link as I normally use a Mac and I am now using a stupid PC with Windose – OK flame away as I probably have ask for it. Can’t help being an elitist when it comes to computers).
For the purist, his article is not incorrect that there is no such thing as a Malaysian race. But he is wrong to suggest that there is no Anak Anak Bangsa Malaysia (Children of the Malaysian Race) in the pluralistic sense. This is what is going to unite all Malaysians.
Littlebird, you will always have an “uncle” in Australia and upon my return, an additional uncle in Malaysia, like I am “Uncle John” to the children of my best caucasian Australian friend since they stared to speak. They are now 26 years old (twins) and they still call me Uncle John. These kids never saw me in any different light because of the colour of my skin.

Dear Haris,
This argument about the Flag is going around in circles.
Both for and against have valid reasons.
That it isn’t exactly wrong, based on some guy/book/code deciding that it is the way to express “distress’, is “korek”.
That it is disrespectful, cannot be denied.
If that is how you wish to fight, so be it – but it definitely isn’t my style ….. I wouldn’t do such a thing.
Ultimately, it’s about how your conscience dictates.
BTW – I love the other pic upside down, and the Bung video.
Now that’s distress!!

Haris, howdee 🙂
I know I am digressing here but I am suffering from an attack of an unexpected bout of 😦 pesky confusion, sort of like your pesky rhinitis I suppose.
You see my book in Bahasa Malaysia/Melayu/Malay says that the English word spelt as “correct” best translates into the word “betul” and not into the word “korek”.
The book says the Malay word “korek” best translates into the English word “dig”.
Is my book correct Haris, or is it incorrect and so 😦 disrespecting me and my learning and also causing me distressful confusion by teaching me wrong language-related stuff?
WE SAY YEAH! 🙂
