‘…yesterday, the Court, through Justice Dato’ Syed Ahmad Helmy bin Syed Ahmad, rose to reclaim it’s position as the ultimate balancer; the ultimate dispenser of justice and the ultimate institution which would check and balance out the abuses and excesses of the executives.
Yesterday was a day the Court, the peace loving people of Malaysia and justice embrace each other and walk alongside each other on the same road’– The Gazer of Navels.

It was a lovely piece of sharing from the navel gazer and you looked debonair with your coat and tie (caught a picture of you at the Shah Alam High Court).
What a breath of fresh air this victor has brought us?

TO BE FRIED OR FIRED?
Should anyone be fired for having misfired
Over an issue many people are getting tired
Now that this matter has been fully tried
It’s about time for someone guilty to be fried

FREE THE INNOCENT ONES
Let all innocent ones be set free
Not fair to hole them up in any tree
As unfortunate victims of detain and hold spree
Honour and respect truth and set all innocent ones free

yeah while we were all euphoria over the release of RPK, we should not forget his team of lawyers. they worked so hard, they were so committed, they were the ones responsible for RPK’s release. yes, everybody acclaimed RPK as a hero, but i would like to say the lawyers are heroes too. congrats to them and thank you so much!

Haris,
Thanks for succeeding in setting RPK ‘free’. I am proud to have you as fellow ‘Bangsa Malaysia’.
It is the way to go for us to achieve a better Malaysia and make Malaysia the best place on this planet called ‘Earth’.
Thanks to all right thinking Bangsa Malaysia too.

Tears and nothing else was flowing profusely after reading Navel Gazer and all the comments. You all gave us HOPE and we will fight together until ISA is repealed. Congrats to the legal team and the righteous Judge. May God Bless them all.

The Home Minister should let the matter rest. If he does so, perhaps Malaysians and the world would be kinder on him. Two wrongs don’t make one right.
Being vindictive is bad for his soul and not what religions teach. A real leader must be magnanimous and humble and readily admits his own weaknesses and foibles. Afterall, we are all human. Power and wealth make many people forget the basics of being a decent human being.
If he needs a good role model, I suggest he follows RPK.

Dear Mr. Haris, You are a great guy — i just want to shake your hand and tell you how so impressed I am with your dedication, your conviction, your writings.. Unfortunatlely, due to poor health, I’m unable to attend the vijils. wish I could. But i always read your posts. Will they (the Govt) ever get down from their high horse, admit their mistake and release the Hindraf 5? They KNOW these men are not terrorists. The video showing Mdm Puspaneela, wife of lawyer Mr. Manoharan speaking about how poorly her husband is and how he was only the legal advisor and shouldn’t have been put in there was so sad. Seems like Indians have to suffer the “pantang anak Melayu dicabar” thing? I can’t help feeling so miserable for my Indian ppl who are always at the bottom of the pile (e.g. when they are arrested, in ‘conversion’ body-snatching cases, etc etc). Will there ever be justice and a level playing field? What kind of ‘home’ will I be leaving my children to?..

Haris, you have at countless of times thanked the lawyers and the rest for helping set RPK free. We, the rest, have to thank you for the countless amount of effort you’ve taken to make this work. You were present almost everywhere when it mattered most and your towering presence have led the way for many other Malaysians to follow suit. Thanks Haris, for having played a pivotal role in ensuring RPK’s release and also for all you’ve done for others to see justice in Malaysia.

They took a statement and asked a few questions, and was later released. Cant believe they forced their way upon us while we sang the national anthem.

Bro,
As you have asked, I’ve put an account of ‘Bloody Sunday’. But I’m not sure of how many pics to put, but I put it as it is to help narrating the account.

Haris, I read you were at the candlelight vigil at PJ tonight when the FRU-thugs attacked so I hope you are okay.
I am angry, and I regret that defenceless people were bullied, arrested and also beaten and hurt by the FRU tonight for no sane reason whatsoever.
I have done the only thing that I can do to help right now, which is to light another candle in defiance from afar and say a prayer for the farce and madness over there to end soon.
But my reason tells me that more such peaceful vigils and brave and disciplined risk-taking will be required from many more aaBM before all the ingrained farce and endemic madness is brought to an end.
I dedicate this timeless classic to you and to all the others out there who are standing tall and bravely taking that bull by the horns.
“THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM”
from the film MAN OF LA MANCHA (1972)
Music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a heavenly cause
And I know if I’ll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I’m laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
“Imagine Power To The People” John Lennon.

Police brutality yesterday night and Selangor Police Chief lying through his teeth this morning. Compare the denial of CPO that they did not charge at candlelight vigilers singing Negara Ku with the video I shot at Civic center.
