The Barisan Rakyat blogging team got into Taiping yesterday around 3pm, complete with our new look.
8pm last night, headed out to the Markas PAS at Air Kuning, for a briefing, together with the Perak bloggers.
This morning, we were up and out of the hotel by 7.15am.
The plan was first to have a quick breakfast and then head out to the nomination centre.
No such luck.
The Pakatan crowd of supporters was already starting to make its presence felt, streaming towards the nomination centre, and the team was caught up in the mood of the morning.
On another street parallel to that where the Pakatan supporters were slowly making their way to the nomination centre, the BN supporters were assembling to start their march to the nomination centre. I nipped over to take the following shots.
As I noted earlier, I made the number of Pakatan supporters at and around the nomination centre that spilt over on to a hillside and the road leading up to the centre at about 30,000. Some of the others in the team thought my figure was too modest.
The number of BN supporters?
I put it at about 3,000 – 5,000. Many in the team thought I had overstated their numbers.
I’ll leave you with the photos below and photos and two video clips posted by delCapo and let you try to make your own estimate.
The Pakatan crowd.
Del’s photos and video clips can be viewed HERE.

We may not have that many PR supporters on nomination day at Batang Ai, but definitely history was created when Dayaks, Chinese and Malays came in drove numbering more than 5000, suporting a Dayak candidate.
The PR spirit is indeed felt in Sarawak now.

As a Chinese I used to feel indifferent to PAS, now
I no longer harbor any suspicion.
Matter of fact, I felt a sense of brotherhood with my muslim brothers.
If I am a Bukit Gantang voter, it is all the way for PAS without thinking twice.
Thanks BN scums, you make me a ANAK MALAYSIA!

Todays Star paper had reports on all the 3 by-elections. There were 9 pictures accompanying the reports on the inside pages.
ALL, every single one, were on BN’s candidates and supporters! Not a single one showed PR supporters.

When I see the the sea of rakyat marching, I truly believe that the peoples’ struggle for Ketuanan Rakyat is homing in on the final stretch.
Which of BN leaders can today SPONTANEOUSLY command a support crowd of 3000, let alone 20-30,000 marching in support of our beloved Leader Nizar.
We now have torch bearers who have transformed themselves, the latest being Perakian leaders led by Nizar, from a leader of this and that party of a particular state, into a national icon of all Malaysians.
A peoples’ movement not seen for decades is moving forward with final decisive momentum with this triple by-elections.
Fast forward Malaysians, on both sides of the South China Sea !

The paid crowds of UMNO sikit sangat! Takkan tak cukup nasi bungkus and t-shirt? Or maybe with inflation their offer not good enough?
Sekarang orang kampung pun dah pandai makan steak. UMNO kena la keluar duit lebih sikit. Takkan bayar rasuah kat AGM UMNO boleh, keluar duit untuk PRK tak boleh? Perjuangan apa macam ni?

Looks like Mr Anwar has enough confidence in Mr Nizar that he can plan to spend more time at Bukit Selambau and Batang Ai. Nizar has the competency and ability to run the election campaign.
Judging from developments to date, it seems Bukit Selambau is in danger of being the weakest link in Pakatan Rakyat’s campaign. Too many self centred scumbags emerging as candidates, hoping to land a “windfall” of being handsomely bought off by UMNO-BN to stand down in the bye-elections, or if they hit the “big number” winning the bye-elections, a 5 million ringgit instant “lottery prize”!

Malaysians should leave no doubts to BN that their days are numbered.
For the die-hard BN supporters, please note that you are supporting a corrupt regime, and there is no question of doubt about that. What a shame on you.

perakians, don’t forget to go the the UMNO ceramah and ask the following questions:
8 – kenapa kerajaan bisu saja apabile akhbar France menyabitkan najib dlm pembunuhan altantuya & rasuah pembelian kapal selam???
“ps: above questions quoted from a penangite.”

The excitememnt has started again with nomination for three by elections yesterday.
Will the rakyat give a lanslide victory to the PR candidate? I certainly hope so.
This is another opportunity to show umno/bn that the rakyat is not happy after 5o years of bn ruling and they has had enough of bn’s corruption, injustice and unfairness.
Let’s all come together as Malaysian regardless of race and religion to show the corrupt umno/bn the exit door.
Syabas,Bangsa Malaysia.
