Just got this off a Malaysiakini report.
PKR chief of staff Ibrahim Yaacob disclosed to Malaysiakini an e-mail said to have been sent by Saiful to Anwar the day before his now infamous police report, and Anwar’s reply thereto.
from Saiful’s Blackberry at 3.01am :
Nobody know (sic) what God decides for us. People come and go. After seeing the new office, I felt a sense of worry and repentance in me.
I’ve been reflecting upon myself in the past few weeks. This is the conclusion from my reflections of myself.
1. Indiscipline. Not punctual.
2. Unqualified. It will make it easier for your enemies to attack you and tarnish your image.
For the sake of your well being and the party’s, I regret to inform you that I am submitting my resignation as your private assistant effective today.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work. All the knowledge that you’ve bestowed upon me will be used as best as possible.
Anwar’s reply said to be sent at 6.28am ( presumably on the same day ) :
Thank you for continuing your services and (good luck with) your university education. You have served with sincerity, loyalty and commitment.
There is more knowledge to be gained. Haha.
Ibrahim will coordinate your tasks after this as best as he can.
Here’s where it gets murky.
Ibrahim Yaacob says that the first e-mail might not have been from Saiful as it appears to be a departure from his usual style!
If indeed it’s Saiful’s e-mail, it makes utter nonsense of his police report the day after which makes specific reference to the act complained of having taken place the day before the e-mail.
If, on the other hand, as Ibrahim Yaacob seems to think, it’s not Saiful’s, what’s going on?

We will not know the truth just yet, its all clouded by respective perception and bias. The thing to note is that ‘rumours’ had been around for many years prior to 1998 about Anwar being bi-sexual.
Is this a fact? If not then mere rumour.
If it is a fact then I think the issue is can Malaysians accept a PM wannabe who is not straight.

Haris,
The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, and our deeds and words return to us sooner or later, with astounding accuracy – Florence Shinn
No matter what the UMNO said or did to DSAI, it will haunt them back. It’s their stupidity that have been killing them and yet for their arrogance they point the faults on others. I feel sorry that they have been living in the darkness they can’t even see the light of wisdom. They can’t even think! Must be too much evil in their head!
It is like they are fighting blindly and we people are having the pleasure of watching them making an idiot of themselves and God speed their crumbling down. God is great. It is not an easy journey for DSAI and I pray for him and his family.

Rumours also have it that a great number of Kuala Kangsar’s Malay College alumni and possibly present students too might have gay tendencies or experienced or experimented with gay like activities. So what do we do with all these rumours now if they too were real?
In any case, why is it readily presumed that any gay like inclinations on the part of Anwar is any business of yours or that he might be unfit for Premiership? After all what we otherwise have is a number of people present or future whose agenda have more to do with plunder of the nation’s wealth more than anything else anyway. So do you care if a straight guy does it or a gay guy does it?
One thing that is becoming more and more clear as more is revealed is that in America we have the Columbine massaccre by very disturbed individuals. Here in Malaysia we have one Saiful Bukhari who appears more and more like one very disturbed individual.
Fact that the police seem to be having a perpetual unstoppable orgasmic pleasure out of this is something for Pfizer to examine. Maybe they will find a natural substitute or replacement for viagara.

The problem with DSAI he did not trust the guy who warned him of the impending threat of sodomy. He could not believe that the mamak would do it on him. On a particular night at….., a meeting was held and the discussion was centered on how to get rid of him. They could not pin any on him until an idiot out the blue mentioned “main punggok” That was how DSAI got into the mess without believing someone who was sincere in warning him. This was before he was arrested for sodomy.
Now it is repeated and how unfortunate it comes from someone he thought he trusted.
“One he did not trust but was sincere and one he trusted but not sincere???”
He is now in a dilemma who to trust. In an old saying “your good friend is your enemy”

“”it’s not Saiful’s, what’s going on?””
I would look at it through this angle “2. Unqualified. It will make it easier for your enemies to attack you and tarnish your image.”
If the email is from saiful, was he trying to say something here to warn DSAI. Was he under pressure or threat and forced to make a police report the next day. If he was under pressure, was he indebted to the one forcing him to do so.
From experience one who is under severe threat or pressure his language changes including his written ones.

Isnt it obvious they are the CROOKS that “ganged raped” the Malaysian economy in 1997/8 by devaluing it by more than RM$500 billion after Anwar “sodomised” it by legalising short selling of currency and stocks? Why did they do it then? Because they wanted to bankcrupt Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand from carrying their grandiose plans to “deforest” Brazil and replant with oil palms. Hahahahahaha..bijak skrip Anwar, well planed.
Mahakamah turut membayangkan, Anwar bukan sahaja bersih, malah suci.

Ho-hum… Murky and murkier it is becoming.
Let’s hope and pray that the OIL HIKE RALLY planned for Sunday 6th July will not be hijacked by AI like the way he did on Bersih’s 10-11, conveniently turning up on a big bike at the gates of the Istana dressed in a yellow Bersih t-shirt under a jacket, just several minutes before the ‘approved’ delegation (which included the likes of LKS and AHA) were about to deliver the memorandum to the Agung.
Hang on.. Maybe that’s what this bewildering circus show is all about.
A populist-type politician will not want to miss out on a grand street rally and especially if the general public can be tweaked and turned into providing moral support and sympathy towards an allegedly innocent victim of perceived government intimidation.
Disclosing the new evidence on the IGP and AG was not good enough to create and harness public indignation on an old case hence the necessity to sex up the circumstances leading up to the expose with the several side plots of sodomy, death threats, embassy refuge, upcoming by-election, 4 MPs jumping ship, defamation suit on SBA, yadda.. yadda.. etc
Brilliant gameplan by AI. But will it work?
Let’s see how the AAB administration handle this Gordian Knot?

Study Saiful Bukhari’s face. There’s something there that reminds me of Khairy Jamaluddin. Shrinks today will label it “bi-polar disorder.” In the good old days it was known as “schizophrenia.” That’s right, it’s the proverbial Jekyll-Hyde complex – or Smeagol-Gollum syndrome if you prefer your metaphors up-to-date. What I see looking at Saiful’s face is a kid who hasn’t made up his mind whether to be “good” or “bad.” There’s a certain boyish charm and innocence there, a useful survival skill, and he seems very keen on being accepted and loved by his peers (read Saiful’s blog comments on Riwayat Hayat in response to suggestions that he’s a “musang berbulu ayam”). He volunteers his services to the PKR campaign. However, he also likes being photographed with Umno bigwigs and by now everybody has seen Saiful posing beside Najib’s special agent Khairil Annas Jusoh (himself rumoured to be gay) at the DPM’s office. So if that resignation email is from Saiful (and I don’t see who else might have written it for him, though he may have been instructed to tender his resignation before incriminating Anwar), it reveals a young man torn between loyalties and, ultimately, feeling himself unworthy to continue serving as Anwar’s special assistant (perhaps because he found himself actually liking and admiring his boss), he does an amok on himself, going for the notoriety he knows will be his lot (in the same way a weak character like Mark David Chapman would choose to assassinate the man he admires, since he can never aspire to match his hero’s accomplishments). And what about KJ? When I met him back in 1999 he was working at NTV7 as a talkshow host and news producer. He was bright and smug and actually very polite but I could sense the young man’s burning desire to make his mark, to really make it big. I think we did exchange a few pleasantries before we parted and my parting words to the young KJ may have been: “You have a lot going for you, but keep a tight rein on that ego!” He was certainly nothing like the KJ I saw on Malaysiakini.tv rabble-rousing for Umno at the Ijok by-election. Humans are not one-dimensional and to expect them to be is to
dehumanize them. Life, like politics, is rarely a black-and-white affair. Even Lady Macbeth has a story to tell and, although one is wise to avoid marrying anyone like her, one ought to grant her humanity – on condition she doesn’t ascend to the throne, of course!

There is no way UMNO can come out of this without looking bad. Even if UMNO in the end pin it on Saiful himself, many will not buy it thinking that at the very least its a runaway operation of UMNO. It gives more credence to those who have been saying the leadership is weak. Only way Badawi can get out of this is to pin it on one other enemy like say Dr. M but the evidence have to conclusive.
Badawi still don’t get it he is screwed and that is much more worrying..

Question: Is this purported email in its original language, ie English? If so, then I seriously doubt it came from Saiful, considering the overall miserable command of the English language among our youth today. Assuming that these email exchange did come from Saiful himself, then it appears that he was either putting up a front or being coerced into admission of sodomy by DSAI just like it happened before with Sukma and Munafir. I have completely lost my trust on the PDRM, thanks very much to Mahathir who started this rot.

salam,
what is more alarming to all these episodes is the way Anwar and the supporters over-react to the crisis. But I suppose nobody cares abt the state of our country other than Anwar’s plight and whatever naught.
Obliviously – Anwar who has projected (pre-and post keadilan existence) to be a better muslim / person / leader above the rest – could NOT wisely react to the issue with calm and wisdom.
obviously (or perhaps obliviously) Anwar failed to understand the wisdom and ethic in islam in facing a Fitnah – slandering.
the BIG question – If ever Anwar have had involved in such Homosexual activities (or whatever degree and I don’t care what happens behind close doors) – and when the victim comes forward, such investigation is warranted and we have to take it seriously.
I know / realise it is hard to to prove and produce the such evidence – unless they have 2 aldult witnesses. And can anyone produce such witness?
So Anwar has to go through such process anyhow. He has not show any gentlemen traits in him – but in fact rallying behind his “supporters” and international supporters.
whether there is conspiracy or not – the investigation has to proceed and the truth has got to be made known to the public. it is a ploy and ironic to deviate the attention abt conspiracy, corruption and nepotism (just as what he did then).
as a citizen, i’m getting too scared by Anwar’s behaviour and reaction during crisis. if he is better – show me the grace
waallahualam.
xproAnwar,
All things being equal, I would agree that all you have said.
Problem is, what we’ve seen of our institutions thus far does not leave room for any confidence with any investigative process.

If he was under pressure or threat, what’s stopping him from speaking out now?
I don’t believe it’s possible to silence someone for long by intimidation unless there is massive inducement for him to keep up the charade.
And I don’t believe Saiful acted on his own without some powerful person behind him.

I agree with Paul Warren above – so what? gay, straight, bi? who cares? Does it detract from DSAI’s ability to think and act rationally?
And another thing: A tall strapping 23-year-old like that… someone must have held him down, no? If he was an unwilling participant, as he says? Plus, how old is DSAI? I don’t see him being able to over-power his young accuser at all.
Personally, I think we shouldn’t care what someone’s sexual preference is. I mean, you planning to sleep with the man?!
I never ‘got’ it the first time around – the sodomy charge – and now we have a second round? It’s just too bizarre!
And damn malu lah the headlines in the news. In the eyes of the world, Malaysia = sodomy! Sigh. If this is ‘spin’, can’t the spinners think up something more ‘classy’ to accuse him of?
Patricia,
The problem, in my view, is not so much of a moral one but one of security.
If I was gay and not a ‘closet’ one but open about it, and chose to run for public office, the question you all would have to concern yourselves with would be whether you could accept a gay in that office, and not whether I may be susceptible to all sorts of blackmail by those who know of my sexual inclination and my need to keep that inclination closeted.
What would I be prepared to do, in that public office, to keep my secret closeted?
Give contracts? Award positions?

Haris,
Grated, you have a good point there. IF you were a closet gay.
BUT, the ‘straight’ (in quotes for obvious reasons) politicians have a similar problem. Because they can’t keep it in their pants, they too are in the same quandary: what would he (or she, for that matter) be prepared to do, in that public office, to keep his (or her) secret a secret? Give contracts? Award positions?
Patricia,
Bingo!
So, like the Chua Soi Lek case, if he was an open philanderer and not a closet one, no issue.
It becomes a problem when you like the ‘bit on the side’ but wish to maintain an image that suggests otherwise.
The problem is when you are a ‘closet something’.
That’s when you open yourself up to all sorts of blackmail etc and become a security liability.

Personally, I would not be surprised if AI was involved with other WOMEN, but with guys? Don’t think so! I was told (rather reliably) that the mattress did not have the kind of stains (ie, man-on-man) that would make him guilty of being gay. It did yield results of ‘straight’ sexual activities with AI involved. Notice that he has been very careful to say that he did not have gay sex, which would have immediately finished him off politically here in ‘Islamic Malaysia’. Now, consider Najis who is well known to chase anything with skirts, preferably beautiful ones like Ella and exotic Mongolian beauties. Najis will stick his middle finger at you, and say SO WHAT? But, if someone will be willing to spread the ‘news’ that he has been poked at the rear-hole by Najis, then our country’s ‘holy ire’ shall not be contained!

Dear Haris,I think the fault lies with AI,whether he did it or not last time and now.Back then,he was caught unprepared and was checkmated by TDM.I thought he learned a very big and bitter lesson then-that no one can be trusted, epecially in politics and to be careful at all times.
Now,it is clear to us that he is still careless or maybe too trusting of those people around him.Why did he accept a young and inexperience man to be his personal aide is beyond my comprehension. Is he so lack of helpers that he gladly take in anyone without doing a thorough check into that person’s background?
To fall into the same trap twice for a leader speaks alot of that leader’s mental prowess.I think reading up Sun Tzu Art of War will do him a lot of good if he really wanted to win this battle for the coveted PMship.
Otherwise,I don’t see the end to his predicament. For him,it will definately be ‘so near yet so far’ if he
does not wise up to people and his surrounding from now on.

Nostradamus Quatrains on “Wag the Dog”
In the month named of a Roman King
The year of great games played by Greeks
Malaysie, a land where politikus battle
“Wag the Dog” the game is played
A man defamed twice over
Seeking restitution with Ottoman Kings
A plot being hatched as night awaits
Watch in trepidation by the man defamed
People in Malaysie cry in vain
Great turbulence and strife engulf
Lost is the fable of Mongolian assasins
Forgotten is the hatred of black oil curse
Men in power rule with joy
For winners, gold and lust awaits
Lost are the tales of greed and arrogance
Forgotten are the tales of men in chains
Little Napoleon kings jump in joy
For keeping the turf and rule once more
But alas, such is the game being played
The time to repent is so in vain
Stomach empty, spirit rise in men
Seeking justice for those in pain
A man of honor they seek within
To play a game of which to gain
Across the land, the people rose
Silence and patience is the game being played
Within the halls and corridors of fame
Man of honor win the game

Not all 23 year olds are strong. Not all 60 year olds are weak. Strength is relative to faith and determination. You want something bad enough, you’ll find a way. We should go to anwar and najib (dont worry-both are easily accessible from what can be deduced from this drama)and get them to deal. That will save a lot of resources. Easily said than done? Well.. can a 23 year old be S.. by a 60 yr old with a bad back? Can a 23 year old nobody easily go to the DPM’s office? Can a 23 year old nobody easily become a PRIVATE ASSISTANT to a VERY PROMINENT POLITICIAN? These questions are more baffling to me.

This 23 years old ‘victim’ was admitted to a goverment hospital for a checkup. Now,how credible is a goverment hopital’s doctor?Bearing in mind that these doctors are part of the civil service and must toe the line, should’nt a doctor from the private hospital be the one to conduct this checkup and must be a reputable and professional doctor too, meaning he is not tempted to bribes.I am sure there are some in this country.
I still remember VK Lingam’s brother was sent to a goverment doctor to evaluate his mental condition and was admitted to Tg Rambutan.Subsequently,it was discovered that the brother did not suffered from any mental illness and was declared very sound minded.
Having say this,I will have some doubts about the medical report, whether it is in Anwar’s favour or not.
The bottom line is,the doctor’s report might not paint the true picture.

I do not mean to offend the goverment doctors but under such circumstances when the goverment might have something to hide, then it won’t hesitate to use the dirty tactics and force it’s way through and as the employee, can you fight against your employer. No,unless you are prepared to face the consequences.Hence,an independent or private doctor would be a better person to perform this checkup.

Do you remember how Mahathir chickened out when Anwar sued him for RM100m? Remember, there was supposed to be a 100-page document of evidence proving that Anwar was guilty of ‘main belakang jantan’. Hi Harris g’day to you,
I absolutely agree with your reply to Patricia. The issue here is not so much of morality but that of security if at all Anwar were to helm the govt.Lets assume Anwar is indeed a bi-se….. ,can our society accept it if he were to come out openly and admit his abnormal biological needs which is construed by many as a weakness?
Then why are we all supporting PR when we know clearly that,if at all PR comes to power,Anwar will definitely become the PM of the country?I cant envisage any other capable malay candidate amongst the PR leaders since the post is traditionally reserved for a malay candidate only.
I think its worth taking a chance now by giving him the benefit of the doubt. In the same breath in our haste to teach the BN govt a bitter lesson I too pray that we rakyat dont make a bigger blunder.
