Star online reports that Penang MCA deputy chairman Lau Chiek Tuan finds it quite unacceptable that Najib apologised for the remark by Bukit Bendera Umno division head Datuk Ahmad Ismail that the Chinese community are just immigrants in the country and therefore not entitled to equal rights in Malaysia.
“How can Najib apologise when he did not say such things?”, Lau is reported to have asked.
Sure, he did not say what Ahmad said.
Najib only threatened to spill the blood of the Chinese!
And I don’t recall any apology from him for that!
And why is he pretending remorse now?
That same Star online report has it that Ahmad made those remarks in the presence of Najib.
Why no rebuke for Ahmad the moment the remark was made? Why no spontaneous apology to those in the audience?
And did he truly apologise?
What did Najib say that is now said to be UMNO’s apology?
Star online reports that Najib hopes that ‘non-Malays will not be too disturbed’ with Ahmad’s remark
However, IF non-Malays are offended by the statement, on behalf of UMNO, then Najib apologises.
Therefore if non-Malays are not offended, no apology.
He only regrets the statement if non-Malays are offended.
What, does he imagine that Malays will not take offence?
A qualified apology only to non-Malays?
More divide and rule?
Reminiscent of the Najib-Lee Kim Sai wayang kulit of 1987, isn’t it?

Sir –
You are a gem and your analysis is spot on. To take your point a little further: The apology is conditional and targetted only to non-malays. This is unsatisfactory. It should be UNCONDITIONAL because racism is wrong regardless of whether someone is offended by it or not. Furthermore, the apology should be offered to EVERYONE!Racism and bigotry is wrong and offensive to everyone regardless of who is the abuser and whom is the target.

I am truly fed up of this wayang kulit. And with the culprit Ahmad not maaking a move to show remorse. Has he got ahold over Najib that the latter has to “apologise” on his behalf?
And Najib’s half-hearted apology really hurts. If these two are reflective of UMNO’s values, I can only say that UMNO is a lost cause. Period.

Yes, a brilliant assessment. Every true Anak Anak Bangsa Malaysia is offended by the remark, so an apology to every Anak Anak Bangsa Malaysia is long overdued, not just to one particular ethnic community. However, this may be a ruse to have one ethnic community pitted against another so that UMNO can then use in their divide and rule strategy ie, we have apologise but the Chinese are making a big fuss inspite of our generosity with our apology.
Evil prevails when good men do nothing.

No no no no….
Haris, that was NOT an apology. Anything they say at this point is not an apology, and no one should be taking it as such.
Not until the top brass of this UMNO outfit stands out and says: “We apologise to all the rakyat of Malaysia for continually using race and ethnicity to divide and rule all you beautiful people.”
If they cannot do that, which I cannot see them doing in a million years, then they have not seen their mistake at all. And what we are taught is that to apologise, one must first know of one’s own mistake.
Najib, Ahmad and all the other UMNO goons who spout nonsense don’t even know what they’ve done wrong!
This is the exact same kind of “apology” that Hishammuddin issued earlier this year. He “apologised” for waving his keris “because the non-Malays do not understand”. And again, he sees nothing wrong with what he had done!
If all of us very exasperated and frustrated people could just unite, stand together, and jointly PUSH these people off that little self-made throne they’re sitting on, they can bet their socks that no one will “apologise” for doing that.

Yes, you are spot on.
Najib’s apology on behalf of UMNO is only condition.
i. Name me ONE non-Malay citizen who is not offended to be called a pendatang.
ii. Why only to the non-Malays ? UMNO should apologise to ALL MALAYSIANS.
His apology, together with the earlier statement by the flip flop PM, is basically to appease both UMNO and BN component party members.
One cannot uphold a ketuanan Melayu policy without saying others have less or no rights.
I wonder why anyone in UMNO needs to apologise for the stand of the party.
It is just like the Ku Klux Klan saying apartheid is bad.

This Scribe was curious as to why the BN/Umno leadership were so afraid to take action against Ahmad Ismail for his seditious remark. After doing a Sherlock Holmes, this Scribe begin to get the big picture. It appears that Ahmad Ismail is a big time Umno warlord in Penang. Ahmad Ismail was cleared of bankruptcy by the Insolvency Department in 2006. Ahmad Ismail is the figure linked to the controversial PORR project in Penang. He is the director of Peninsular Metroworks Sdn. Bhd., the concessionaire for the project. Ahmad is an influential Umno divisional leader and former Penang Chief Minister Koh Tsu Koon was beholden to him for support. That was why Koh was powerless when Ahmad Ismail a mere Umno division leader could wield so much influence over him and accused him of not paying attention to the Malays in Penang. The CM’s former constituency of Tanjong Bungah happens to be in the Bukit Bendera division.
It gets more interesting here, The Scribe discovered that PM Abdullah Badawi was named as a director of Yayasan Bumiputra Pulau Pinang, who owns 34% of the PMW share via two wholly-owned companies, Kumpulan Pinang and Kumpulan Perhubungan. Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi is linked to the Penang Outer Ring Road (PORR) project’s concessionaire company, Peninsular Metroworks Sdn. Bhd. (PMW) According to corporate information obtained from the Companies Commission of Malaysia, Abdullah (I.C. No.391126-07-5077) was first appointed director of the Yayasan Bumiputra Pulau Pinang Sdn. Bhd. His name is still listed as a director.Yayasan Bumiputra now controls 34.78 percent of PMW through its two subsidiary companies; Kumpulan Pinang Holding Sdn. Bhd. and Kumpulan Perhubungan Sdn. Bhd…More http://margeemar.blogspot.com

Hi Harris,
Don’t expect any remorse from Badawi, Najib and those from UMNO. Want to apologise then apologise. This is like paying the judges for pain and anguish in the millions but nothing to apologise for. The guys from MCA, Gerakan, PPP, MIC are all scared to speak out. Wonder what skeletons are looming in their closets. Let Lim Guan Eng spill the beans in Penang. Hope Selangor, Perak and Kedah will follow…Hope the guys in the 3 states has started working for they are rather quiet. Harris thank you for being so spot on. Care to run for PM.

As for the 1987 incident, its only right and appropriate for Najib to apologise first or else all his other apologies do not hold now water.
I think all Malaysians were hurt by the above remark made at TPCA Stadiun in Jln. Raja Muda. Krismuddin waved his keris too but never uttered that he wanted to bathe it in Chinese blood and he apologised too.

All the sandiwara is UMNO is in turmoil. The leadership is screwed royally. If Muhiyiddin got any balls, he team up with Razaleigh and go for the top job.
Not only different people say different things. Same people say different things at different times. Its all screwed up.
If Anwar want the PM job, it does not get any better than now. Its time to see if his skills in public is as good as his skills among politicians. He has to sell the idea that UMNO is f**** up and will be for quite a long time, there is no real future in any near future for component parties and middling politicians. They have to look after themselves and not count on top leadership which will continue to mess up again and again and the people will get tired of them…

I just don’t understand why the Chinese are pendatang, when the Malays also came to Malaya in the lions of Parameswara as a fugitive as I read in a blog came in a boat also – is he not also a pendatang???
No offence intended but if the Malays were always here then they would have to be the aborigines or one of them.
If the Malays were also immigrants what’s the big deal about Chinese, Indians and all others who came before Independence.
Look at USA, you dont see the 1st settlers (British Americans) there calling others ‘pendatang’ immigrants with no equal rights who came from Europe, and elsewhere. The British Americans had to fight and defend against the British, much, much lives was lost.
Now how much lives did Umno suffered in gaining Malaysia’s Independence.
Nearer, in Australia – you don’t see the Aussies calling those who came later after the convicts were sent from Britain to colonise the country as immigrants with no equal rights. No doubt they were biased against Asian immigrants. Recently their PM even apologised for his predecessor’s bad and evil treatment of the aborigines.
Now we see that even the Aussies respected the abos there as having rights and given equal treatment, maybe even better treatment than white Aussies.
The British only granted Independence after Umno leaders agreed to the rights granted to other races so it is a contractual agreement therefore always legally binding as long as Malaya or Malaysia is around. So do not tell the other RACES to go back to their respective countries as they were not born there!
And look how are the Malaysian govt. or Umno/BN treating the original bumis of the land – the indigenous people.
In Sarawak they were and are being chased out of their gazetted lands by the power and money greedy Taibs. Murdered leader/s, destroyed their homes, used the courts and police – who were supposed to protect their rights to act against them. Sabah is no better as the flood of Muslim pendatang from neighbouring countries get ‘citizenship’ or ICs and voting rights displacing the real bumis of the land.
Here in the Peninsula their churches demolished, no utilities like water and electricity for their church. No freedom in their choice of religion.
Please tell me what type of govt do we have here? and do we want them around?
We desperately need a Reformation or Reformasi.
Only PR fits the bill for now.
Hahaha

Haris, your analysis of Najib’s apology is worthy for every Malaysian to note…retaining power is above everything! It is simply beyond me,, Ahmad Ismail wronged the Chinese community with his racist remarks, is he not man enough to come out with a sincere apology. Why should Najib has to wipe his butt?
Is it because of UMNO GE that these leaders, PM and DPM will go to any length to secure their top positions?
I suspect some of the component parties of BN are now wavering…this racial issue maybe a catalyst for them to make a break.

Haris,
Spot on and excellently put. Anyway, this is yet again another sandiwara by our flip-flop government and I honestly sense and hear of racial tensions brewing within the community. One one occasion, we get the PM coming to Ahmad’s aid saying that he will ensure Ahmad won’t utter similiar remarks in future but no apology & we now have the DPM apologizing of Ahmad’s behalf and that further action would be discussed in the Council meet. What the hell is going on with our freaking leaders ???
Anyway, I’m no lawyer but am suggesting that our Chinese brothers and sisters around the country start filling lawsuits against Ahmad & UMNO led govt for his remark, uttered at an UMNO/ BN ceramah. Is this do-able ?
Salam Reformasi & towards a safer Malaysia after 16th Sept.

If you shit, you wash your own bum! Why is Najib washing Ahmad’s bum? And the whole of UMNO’s bum too..?
You see…, only one BN goon made the racist comment. You get a bigger BN goon to apologise & also on behalf of the whole UMNO goons. That means the BN & UMNO entire goonys are damn bloddy racist.. !
I tell you…. DON”T let it go just like that. Make sure that goon goes to jail or get kicked out of BN. He’s NOT fit to be an MP.
Err….. What about that racist teacher? What is being done so far? Why just transfer them only…? What are they gonna teach? Being racist is the way of life..??
Is this how our PM gonna govern Malaysia? Just slap the hand & off you go..???
Why don’t we the Chinese & Indians make a racist remark & see what happens…! I want to see how big a jail has to be to put us all in.
After 51yrs of Merdeka they still think & talk like an ass hole.
Knowing that being an MP whatever they say will be closely watch & they still say it. WHY..?
Coz they WANT to say it..! And they know they ARE gonna get away with it.
You see… Do you think that this stupid BN goon would say or make racist remarks without thinking…..?
Of course… they do think. WHY..?
Because our top leader (BN) behaves like one. Like they say ” Follow the leader ! ”
I tell you aaaahhh…. even some of my Malay friends feel so ….. angry & embarasse by this racist remarks.
Yup…! He SHOULD apologise to all Malaysian races…
Our PM telling the world that Malaysia is so….. multi racial. Yet he is encouraging racisim !

Haris,
You asked: “Why no rebuke for Ahmad the moment the remark was made? Why no spontaneous apology to those in the audience?”
I think that is an unfair question. Unfair, as Najib or Ahmad, for that matter, could not have known that the dogs they have trained very well to behave in a certain way, would now see fit to behave in a way that is unusual and uncommon of them.
Ahmad was only repeating something that all and sundry in UMNO say in so many ways. Najib and his cousin have even unsheathed their kerises. sothinathan of MIC was suspended and Samy and the rest of the MIC leadership behaved like the well trained dog that he and his colleaggues in MIC are.
What Ahmad said is nothing unusual or something that has been previously unsaid. It is the reaction of Gerakan, MCA and the other component parties that is unusual. Sail boats sail well in normal weather. They become very sinkable in uncommon weather.
If indeed Gerakan and MCA are serious about having been slighted by what Ahmad said, they would all leave the BN coalition and join with Pakatan where we are all Malaysians! Is this just a sandiwara to ignite the wrath of UMNO?

Haris, have we forgotten about zulkifli? the PKR MP that threaten to storm the Bar council if he does not have it his way?
why no emphasis was placed on getting him to apologise?
What Ahmad did is wrong, what zulkifli did is equally wrong. in fact, if you ask me, i think zulkifli is even more fanatic than Ahmad. Atleast Ahmad did not ask the muslims or malay to storm any meetings perceived to be unfit.
If PKR claim to be better than UMNO, then walk the talk. Or is it because the timing is not right for zul to apologise? Timing is not right that Anwar is on the way to form his government and that he needs the MP numbers to stay with him? Then i see not much difference in his conduct than those in UMNO.

Ahmad Ismail doesn’t apologize because he does not see anything wrong in what he said. He meant what he said and believes every word he said. Why should he then say sorry for?
What did he do when the fiasco and protest broke out? The coward “lari overseas” to escape the heat.
I predict soon he will cave and tender a half-hearted apology just to appease all the “pendatangs”.
Remember Hamidah the Perak UMNO assemblywoman who insulted the Speaker (& every other Indian)..she apologized after much pressure and everything was forgotten.
The whole of UMNO was crying for blood when that chinese guy, Namewee, “butchered” the national anthem. Although he did apologize, the cabinet refused to accept the apology.

I think all level-headed Malaysians can sense and feel whether Najib was sincere. I would go as far as to say that even the most bigotted racist in UMNO can sense and feel the truth.
Perhaps Najib may have grand delusions about his words, but to me, his “apology” only served to shine a spotlight on the gross shortcomings in UMNO.
Just like Abdullah Badawi’s “he did not mean it” statement. (I still cringe to think that the Prime Minister of Malaysia could have voiced those words.)
Politically bankrupt, desparate and clueless. Clutching at straws, dishing out senseless spiel, hoping against hope that the rakyat can swallow the “apology”.

The apology is insincere in so many ways, I’ve lost count. Here are some ways where it is insincere.
1. Ahmad Ismail should have apologize in person. Third party apologies are meaningless.
2. Ahmad Ismail should express remorse in person. I see nothing.
3. Najib should have apologized for remaining silent in presence of Ahmad Ismail’s remarks. He didn’t apologize for that.
4. There is clearly no acceptance that what Ahmad Ismail did is wrong. Zilch personal acceptance. The IF conditional apology is clearly unacceptable.
5. The apology on behalf of UMNO is meaningless. Is Najib saying that the seditious remarks was planned by UMNO in the first place?
6. How will the public know that UMNO will never do this again? What actions have UMNO shown to prove this? For example, has Ahmad Ismail been sacked to show the rest of UMNO and the world that UMNO is serious about these issues?
7. This comes after numerous past racist remarks and racist acts of incidents. A simple press statement saying sorry falls far short of what’s required.
So, bottom line. “Sorry, but Najib’s apology is still nowhere near sincere enough, and UMNO’s apology is meaningless, if the issue wasn’t serious”.

Datuk Ahmad Ismail ought to be charged in a court of law for urtering a seditious statement against the Malaysian Chinese. Malaysia Chinese are no immigrant and locally born Chinese.Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak should have apologise on his behalf, because the man in the middle is Datuk Ahmad Ismail and he should made a public apology to the Malaysian Chinese.
Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak should apologise for his statement of wanting to bathe Chinese Blood with Keris while he was Ketua Pemuda UMNO not for what Datuk Ahmad Ismail said on 25 August 2008. So how about it Najib, come on be a man and apologies although it has been 20 long years ago. Say you are sorry and do not qualify it with “if the Chinese feel hurt.”

I had apologise but they still want more.I do not not understand the logic of the person uttering the offending words will not apologise but an elder or senior person had to apologise on his behalve. This is like my son is invovle in a fight with my neighbour child, I as a father go to the neighbourALONE and tell my neighbour ” If you child is hurt by my son , I am sorry( In other words if it is not hurt forget about it). So next day my son will fight with another neighbour’s son again because evrytime he fight I had to go an apologise. What type of logic and culture is this? Malaysia logic? Yes, he should apologise to ALL MALAYSIAN

Malaysiakini’s captioned thus, “Why is Najib apologizing?”.
I will tell you why. Because Ahmad has refused to do so.
If Najib apologized for the transgressions of Ahmad is it called an apology?
My hunch is that Ahmad has been asked by his party bosses to extend an apology to the ‘squatters’ and my educated guess is, he has rebuffed them with a ‘Come what may’ stance.
It is for this reason the UMNO President came up with a ‘He didn’t mean it and I will advice him not to repeat it’ reply.
When this failed to quench Chinese anger , Naijib steps forward with an even more bizarre statement, “We hope that the non-Malays will not be too disturbed with the statement (by Ahmad) and we apologise if it has incurred the sensitivities or unhappiness over the statement.”
Is this an apology? The Oxford dictionary defines ‘apology’ as ‘ a regretful acknowledgment of an offence or failure.’
Would Najib’s statement qualify as a ‘regretful acknowledgement of an offence’ when he chose to use to say “the non-Malay will not be disturbed” and worse still when he qualified his so-called apology with the use of ‘if’.
If there is regret why was his apology not carried by the Malay newspapers and the BM version of Bernama? Is it fear that an apology will dent Malay pride?
So, going by Najib’s logic, if a son rapes someone’s daughter, can his father tell the victim’s family, “I hope you won’t be disturbed but if you are offended I apologize for my son”?
Does it mean the police can now close the file with NFA stamped on it?
Malaysia has found short to legals matters and to appease public anger. Swear in God’s name to prove innocence for the former or make an apology on someone’s behalf for the latter.

In my books, whatever that was said by the DPM is pure rubbish. NO CONFIDENCE!
As a Malaysian, I want to see action, using the appropriate laws be taken by the authorities on the racist UMNO man. Apology now is too late and too little. Why is this guy so important so much so that the PM, DPM and the entire UMNO have to apologize on his behalf? What is PM and DPM trying to hide? Certainly, this action raises more doubts than solve the problem.
The police seems to be very swift with their action against others but in this case, there are police report made all over the country and why the inaction???

How CAN you say that is Ahmad’s personal views when he uttered it at a public congregation during campaigning?
Surely SURELY one only says something for Effect &/or Results during a Public Speech to garner votes – IN FRONT OF THEIR BOSSES, no?
The day YOU Najib apologises WITHOUT RESERVATIONS to ALL the people whose blood you & your cousin wants (others) to dip the keris in is the day you MAY consider sitting in the PM’s chair!
You Sir are NO CHIP OFF YOUR FATHER’S Block!

Hi Everybody
Can we take a step back please?
Now, just look at the write-up in the Sun.
Basically UMNO is apologizing for its racial stance. UMNO is saying SORRY!
His statement was:
“It (The comment) was totally unwarranted and doesn’t reflect the position and attitude of Umno or the leadership of Umno. We regret it very much,” he said.
But didnt he say something about non-Malay’s should be grateful a few days earlier…
Anyway, it is nice of UMNO to say sorry for all the wrong racist sentiments that they have been spewing since the televised AGM.
With internet, we can access historical comments. Will someone post the item that he spoke about in PP please?

IF BN had any trace of decency, they would admit their crimes against the nation.
IF BN had the grace to accept the results of March 8, they would not be attacking Pakatan states.
IF BN had served the RAKYAT, we would not be in this political, economic, social and spiritual mess.
IF BN had brains, they would know the end is nigh and they should make a humble exit.
IF UMNO truly represented the Malay race, they would know that they have brought shame and disgrace to the community.
But you see, UMNO has lost its way and like blind men, the leaders do not know how to get out of the quagmire they are in. The more they open their mouths, the more they blunder. Every step forward they take is two steps backwards.
Why?
Because what goes around comes around. What you sow, you reap.
BN sowed division in society. BN is now divided.
BN took from society. Society will now take back from BN.
BN fooled society especially with its phantoms during elections. BN got fooled by its own mass media that it would win Big time on 8th March.
UMNO urged the use of the keris. UMNO is ‘kerising’ itself.
UMNO’s partners were ‘yes’ people to UMNO’s demands. To survive, UMNO now has to say ‘yes’ to its partner’s demands.
What does it take for BN to learn it sowed destruction and it is now reaping its own destruction?
Unfortunately, the leaders are not “Once bitten, twice shy’ people!

I suggest the members from MCA and Gerakan donate a little blood each and give it to N in a glass. He can then “accidentally” spill it on his crotch or something. That way he can tell the Chinese he is not a racist and convince his supporters that he has kept his promise to spill Chinese blood! 🙂

I am a ninth generation Chinese, following either my paternal and maternal genealogies, born and bred in Malaysia. I am sure that there are many more Malaysian Chinese whose ancestors arrived in the Malay Peninsula long before mine did.
It is rather sad and pathetic that those whose ancestors are comparatively recent arrivals can call us “pendatang” and “squatters”.
Here’s a thought. How about those of us whose ancestors have been here longer than any DUMBNOputra be accorded the same rights as these DUMBNOputras notwithstanding the fact that we are not Muslims?

It’s sure looks ridiculous & ludicrous ! We’re in the early of 2000 and those idiots’ intelligence still way back in the early Merdeka !
An apology is not enough ! What if a Chinese or an Indian hurl racist slur against our Malay brothers ? He’ll be put under ISA. Charge that goon for Sedition.
And let us not forget the racist teacher too who was rewarded (transfer to a smart school nearer to her home) instead of punishment (sack) !
The law is the law ! This country does not belongs to your Bapak UMNO and you do what you like ! !

Written by Margeemar at Rocky’s:
“This Scribe was curious as to why the BN/Umno leadership were so afraid to take action against Ahmad Ismail for his seditious remark.
Bhd…

Harris,
All these UMNO & ASSO have so far been getting away with murder! This racial slurs have been thrown on our face for the last many years in and out of parliament. We were trim and proper children. We thought our leaders in MIC and MCA and GERAKAN will look to it.But instead we were sold in the open market just for a few penny to the UMNOputras who now think that they can twist and turn us as to their whims and fancy and spit on us all the racial slurs and expect us to keep quiet. But what they fail to realise is that we had abandoned our MIC and MCA and GERAKAN long time ago and are now no longer under their clutches. So now we are independant in our quest.we shall one and all get up to our rights. Our Children do not know where is China or India. They do not know any other place other than Malaysia and no other anthem other than Negaraku.

The so called Pendatang have done their fair share in building up this country whereas the irrevelant umno knows how to bleed this country high and dry.
amoker you are right mobs rule and hope umno malays do that. This will have the majority of chinese to pressure further for Gerakan and MCA to leave BN. After all the CM Ali Rustam once said they do not need non malay votes to win.
The more umno plays up this issue the better it is as it is an advantage for Pakatan.
An SMS in chinese is flying round on this issue.

While everyone was very much focused on Ahmad’s diss towards the chinese, we must not forget this other dude here, Zulkifli Noordin, the Kulim MP.
No doubt I love and want Pakatan Rakyat to take over, but Zul’s rhetoric that he played under PKR’s banner seems to collide with his Hyde’s side when he is representing the Malay Muslim Lawyers club;

Sedition, Apology and Swearing are mere words to be bandied about at appropriate occasions by these UMNO goons.
Swearing on holy books and at places of worship are part of the sandiwara that has become on-going media events.
Najib is just going through the motions of an apology. He is not SINCERE. He has never been sincere or remorseful for his unwarranted hateful words.
The Sleepy Head is no better. In fact he is worse. He has become incapable of reading the sentiments of the rakyat, whether Malays, Chinese, Indians or the Bumiputeras of Sabah and Sarawak.
This muddle-headed PM and the wannabe PM are just playing to the UMNO gallery. They are insincere in words as well as actions.
APOLOGY caveated by preconditions does not amount to asking to be forgiven. If the Sleepy Head, Najis and the racist Ahmad Ismail are too arrogant even to see that an injustice to all Malaysians has been committed, they might as well keep their gaps shut.
Let the rakyat judge them accordingly.

The Chinese/Indians will always be 2nd class in M’sia. So many UMNO politicians have said offending remarks towards the Chinese community, NONE were ever diciplined for those offending remarks. If MCA wish to be the champion of the Chinese, then MCA should issue UMNO an ultimatum. The Chinese & Indians have done so MUCH for this country since the British Colonial days until now. This is how UMNO shows their appreciations to us. Next election in 2012, rest assured, the Chinese and Indians will speak even louder!!! FINALLY.. BN is still living in denial.

An insincere apology with oxymoronic explanation to go with. What a joke!
Anyway, this ‘pendatang’ is paying taxes so that ARM-NO can squander it by giving it out in the form of projek kerajaan via dubious gomen tender to this goons who call us pendatangs. This pendatang is different from the pendatangs from indo/myanmar/nepal who came here to take the job opportunities away from locals. Earn their money here and then TT their earnings back to home countries – leakage from the economy. Who suffer? It’s the pakciks and makciks who owns the small to medium industries.
Why can’t they appreciate us more like their brothers or sisters? When they say untuk agama, bangsa dan negara, can we be included in it? We were born in Malaysia too.

Ahmad or Najib, what difference does it make? Both are birds of the same feather! Damage already done by Ahmad.
MCA / Gerakan trying to gain browny points from the chinese community by making headline news in the chinese dailies.
PR not bothered as no one actually cares about barking strays and are concentrating on forming the next government.
Najib on the other hand trying doing some miserable damage control…must have been forced to by his boss i guess.
What is Najib trying to say when he said “hope that non-Malays will not be too disturbed”?
What kind of a comment is that? You question a citizen’s right to live in his/her own country like others and you hope they are not too disturbed about it!
Then later on you see MCA sucking up on Najib again when Dr.Wee Ka Siong (MCA youth Sec-Gen) said “it is a relief to see the DPM say sorry and try to reduce the damage caused…”
It’s a relief? I’m lost for words.

There is no doubt that UMNO is the chief promoted of racism, religious bigotry and corruption in this country. They were left unchecked for far too long. The time cannot be better than now to banish UMNO to the Parliamentary Opposition.
Things can only begin to improve the day we look at each other as a fellow human being and a fellow countryman, not as Chinese, Indian, Malay, Dayak – Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu etc. I trust that Pakatan Rakyat can show us the way.

Dear Haris
A half-hearted apology is worse than no apology. It is a double insult and made with contempt. The take it or leave it type of apology. So,I rather Najis keep his big fat mouth shut, said nothing and let this racist Ahmad make the apology himself.Instead of making things better,he is making it worst.
By the way, when is the apology for wanting to bathe his keris in Chinese blood coming?Does he need another 21 years?
I think the only ones happy with this are the MCA and Gerakan beggars.Being very desperate beggars, they are contended with whatever rubbish threw at them. But for us ordinary Malaysian citizens of Chinese descent, nothing short of charging Ahmad with the sedition act is enough to address our frustration of being called ‘penumpang’in the country of our birth and which we called home.

An apology without remorse on the part of the offender is as good as nothing. I too analysed exactly what Najib said, and realise it was not really an apology, more of a rationalisation or justification.
If his apology is sincere, it should be followed by a punishment or better yet, invoke the political whip.

Come on lah everybody. It doesn’t matter what Badawi, Najib or UMNO say or “apologize” in public.
Let’s be honest about it, we all know they don’t mean a single word of it. They are just not honest, sincere people. It’s just a show. Privately, they agree with Ahmad that all non-malays are “squatters/pendatang”. Maybe they think we deserve to be called that for arriving this land later than them. Umno will never, never abandon “ketuanan melayu” or else they will not survive.

Racism perpetuated by top officers of the government? Just unheard of. Wait on, perhaps that happened with the Apartheid Regime.

I am sorry to say that these people cannot sincerely apologise as they think they have done no wrong. To be sorry, one must feel real remorse, not just declare a public apology and that’s it. Hence, I don’t think Najib’s public apology ‘on behalf of’ UMNO is sincere, its a vicarious apology, which isn’t an apology. I say they have done no wrong, its because I feel that the racism is within, its inbred into the entire being of the person, so it cannot be eradicated. Its the concept of solipsism as its best example, in this case.
Open hearts, closed minds.

Whimpering MCA, Gerakan and MIC Leaders Wilt in Face of Big Brother UMNO!
So, the BN component parties have agreed to allow UMNO to decide on any action to be taken against that unworthy recipient of the Datukship title Ahmad Ismail, for uttering racist remarks against Chinese.
What a useless bunch of leaders we have in MCA and Gerakan and MIC. This Ahmad goes round openly flouting the ISA and Sedition Act and what not, yet MCA, MIC and Gerakan do not demand at the BN Supreme Council meeting today that such a seditious utterer be charged under the existing laws. How they can delegate the actions to be taken against Ahmad, to UMNO solely, is beyond comprehension. Should not the law of the country apply to Ahmad instead? Should the police not take steps to charge Ahmad instead? How is it that the MCA, MIC and Gerakan leaders do not insist at the BN Supreme Council Meeting that the law be applied to Ahmad, instead, they are preferring internal UMNO party procedures take precedent over the laws of the land?
If this is the case, then it is best that ISA and Sedition Act be abolished altogether, for it seems that the present government is indulging in selective prosecution yet again. And in fact, this is our stand, that the ISA and Sedition Act are draconian laws that should be abolished for it is increasingly appearing to be as a tool to be used only when convenient. If UMNO procedures can take precedence over these laws, then there really is no point in having these laws!
Utterly Useless Whimpering MCA, MIC and Gerakan leaders!
