ABU has a ‘cybernest’ for its ABU eagles to drop in, share thoughts and ideas and build on a growing bond of friendship, founded on a common hope for good, honest governance of our nation and the end of the marginalisation and the impoverishment of over 40% of our people.
One eagle sent this in.
I felt it warranted sharing with you.

I stayed up tonight to watch a documentary on TV called “Miracle Rising: South Africa”.
Having watched it, the severity of that change resembles what we have here in Malaysia today.
A completely racist, ruthless and unknowing government.
The population of SA at that time was 20 million. We are not that far off.
Now, the reason i’m posting this is for all to have a look back in to history.
We talk about burying UMNO/BN, but are we ready to see some of us, as comrades, perish due to conflict in this process?
IF we are, then please have this words close to our hearts when we fight and win the war.
We, the people of Malaysia
Recognise the injustices of our past;
Honour those who suffered for justice and freedom in our land;
Respect those who have worked to build and develop our country; and
Believe that Malaysia belongs to all who live in it, united in our diversity.
Only then can we work on our next phase.
Reconciliation.
To get Malaysians from all walks of life to know thy brother and thy sister better… without fear, prejudice, conscientiously and actively.
Stay strong, Eagles. GE is around the corner.

Yes. Only the Malaysians can get rid of our corrupt Government. But it will be no picnic in the park. The road ahead will be hard, and painful.
However, the success in South Africa did not come solely from the efforts of the people within the country. They had tremendoius support from outside. I remember how we, as members of the National Union of Students, marched alongside Oliver Tambo against Botha, again in protest of the death of Steve Biko, and refused permission to Barclays Bank, who supported South Africa with their banking system, from setting up shop within the College buildings This led to many countries setting up an embargo on the Botha regime.
And, all the while, we Malaysian had to watch out for MSD (Malaysian Students Department) officers keeping tabs on us.Heady times, they were!

Haris, any chance of you getting close to the leaders of Hindraf and persuade them to modify their demands/blueprint so that it has a better chance of it been adopted by PR. See Hindraf blueprint needs amendment — Kua Kia Soong

Our time has come to be all we could ever be – men and women of supreme conviction and unparalleled courage.
Let us hold fast to faith and move fearlessly forward to battle for the very soul of our dying nation.
We can do it. We will do it. We are unstoppable.
And when we look back to GE 13, years hence, may we say with all humility, “That was our finest moment yet.”
Onward, ABU.
We have an enemy to defeat and a nation to free.
And I have no doubt that God is with us.

Old fogey like me already had half my body to the ground but if need to, I will drag those old bones of mine to walk that extra mile when the time comes. Afterall, this is my country!
I was there when Bapa Malaysia proclaimed independence to our beloved nation with the word “Merdeka” seven times in a row. I was too young then to understand its significance but I can still remember these words as told to me by those elderly Malayan of various races around when I asked them why were they crying about – “Son, today we are an independent nation, free to decide the fate and the future well-beings of the country by ourselves. No one can take that away from us. And you, the younger generation, should study hard and help us build up this nation when we are no longer around”. Yes, and it is for this reason that I now wish to, god forbids, stand on that same platform to witness a new government of the day to once again proclaim “Merdeka” for a new Malaysia, and free her from the 55 years of UMNO/BN dominance with its divide and rule policy. To the younger generation now, the fate of this country lies in your hands, no one can deny you of your rights as citizens to decide what that is good for your country and the future of your children. Malaysia belongs to all of us and it is our duties to save her from further deterioration.
Yes, bro, the eagles have landed!
Bro,
With my old arthritic bones and joints, I will stand, walk, fight and, if it comes to it, die with you

I believe the context of the message is insufficient. Its NOT that we can’t come together but rather that we can fall apart AND in our society, TOO MANY OF OUR elites have been quick to exploit it even if there have always been defenders against them.. Its not that we do not have the capacity to rise above our problems and issue but rather that those in power have been MUCH BETTER and FASTER at abusing them.
Look at Hindraf, Sabah local leaders etc – they are behaving the very same thing that allowed UMNO/BN to gain so much power and hence abuse us..Too many in powerful position don’t have a sense of responsibility to fight divide and conquer in the name of protection of their constituency. How different are they from the fools that fell in the ultra Malays and Mahathir traps long time ago and all these years?

Here we have the Rakyat’s grand vision for CHANGE, it is their hearts’ desire to oust the evil and bring in the good. This has been the ebb and flow in life, good will finally overtake.
Now PR must have strength, honesty, goodwill, awareness and above all intelligence to sharpen its skill to overcome an antagonist. When one has a foe one needs heart and soul
The Rakyat are the steam engine, it is all systems Go and Win PR!!!

Yes, Farida, Haris, God is certainly with us and all God inspired souls, working to realize the Divine Plan, for all of humanity to live in peace and harmony, like one happy family, loving, sharing and caring for one another. Service has been my way of life, building a better world regardless of whether I am paid or not, it is the only way to live once the consciousness has been awakened. Selfishness and greed whether for money or power are what we fight against. ‘There is enough for everyone’s need but not for everyone’s greed’ as said Mahatma Gandhi. I’ll be heading back by end March to celebrate the victory of Truth and Justice with all of you, my brothers and sisters.
